Years back, there was a rumor that went around about a thread on either MERB or PERB where one of the members claimed they had gone to see a provider, it sounds like it may have been a trafficked woman, and asked if she did BBBJ only because of the language barrier, she must have thought he was asking about an abbreviation we aren't allowed to mention because she immediately jumped on his cock without a condom.
As I recall, he said threw her off immediately but he said that has been a few weeks before and he was starting to experience flu-like symptoms, which is apparently one of the early symptoms of HIV infection. Shortly after that, he closed his account and no one ever heard from him again.
Frankly, I feel like that whole thing was a steaming pile of bullshit. It sounds like the set-up for an urban legend, "This is a true story, it happened to a member of a review board in another city!" And as I recall, the thread in question had supposedly been deleted so again, I'm calling bullshit. Or, if it was real, the member who posted it was a troll and it was just a bait post or he may have only had the flu but that scared him off seeing escorts and he decided to take his chances on dating apps. Also, a thread like that would cause a lot of drama so I can see why the admins would want to delete or lock it.
Also, I don't claim to be a virologist but from my understanding, it takes months for HIV symptoms to appear. The person in this story was supposedly showing them a few weeks after the encounter. Also, from the sounds of it, he was only inside the woman for a few seconds. Even if her viral load had been high, unless he had an open wound on his groin, I think he would have been OK. But, again, I think this story was just that, a story.

Well, a very similar thing happened to me in Thailand. Went in a brothel, and the worker me put me inside of her without persmission while I was lying down, no condom. Of course I freaked out later and was really worried. Prosittutes have a much higher rate of HIV than the general population, so his story could be true.

I've heard that if you go to Thailand for sex tourism, whether it's sex workers or through hook-up apps, you should bring plenty of condoms, go on PReP and as an added precaution, get a vasectomy.
I've also heard just that, sex ed and contraceptive use are both non-existent and HIV is rampant. Yeah, HIV isn't the death sentence it was 30 or 40 years ago and from the sounds of it, there's going to be a vaccine, if not an outright cure, against it any day now. But until then, that's you on expensive meds and an embarrassing claim on your drug plan if you have one.
On the other hand, I've heard that it's all bullshit and to not believe everything you see in porn videos or read on blogs or Reddit and whether it's escorts or women you meet through Tinder, or the local equivalent, that they'll make you wear a condom.

Googled it and it says it's about $250 per month in Ontario for those with no insurance. I'd think SPs would probably make this investment just incase of accidents with the condom etc. Small price to pay if you're an SP earning tons of money. It's what I've heard about Thailand too, especially if you're a white guy they'll try the no condom thing since they're crazy for wanting a foreign (Caucasian - they're not into foreign husbands if you're black/asian etc.) husband and may want to trap you by having a kid with you
Honestly, with something like that I'm going to want proof that I'm the father and that she didn't just send me an image of a positive pregnancy test she found using Google.
For all I know, she got raw-dogged and creampied by six other guys that week. Which, again, isn't going to be an issue since if I ever do something like that, I'm going to strongly insist on wearing a condom.
