I remember the day he was shot very clearly. Even in Canada it was a very impactful event. I remember that at the time before his death whether you agreed with his policies or not there was a feeling if optimism and that all things were possible and achievable.
Born in 70. Have not even seen a Stanley cup in Toronto.

I was very young and upset that my favorite Saturday morning cartoon shows were cancelled. My father (who I came to realize greatly admired JFK) was not impressed but to his credit did his best to explain the gravity of the event to me.
I am younger, but regarding cartoons, one day I remember waiting for hours to watch Underdog but all that was on was Bulwinkle.

LoL. You are young enough that you may one day. Less optimistic for myself.
I turned my back on God…. He seems to have turned his back on the Leafs and Bills to piss me off. 🤷‍♂️

I was just out of school at the time working my first job at the Ottawa Citizen. In those days newspapers were published in the afternoon on linptype machines. Because my position required me to spend time in the composing room, I would often be down there while the newspaper was being published. I had just returned from lunch and was cutting through the composing room on my way to the advertising offices. The place was in utter chaos as a new front pape and other parts of the paper had to be done over to meet the afternoon delivery deadline. Still remember that afternoon like it was yesterday.
