I am not a fan of recent Toshiba portables, but for that price is worth a look if you are in need of a standard one.
Just curious about why?
I recently bought a Toshiba similar to that one, a TL-60 with 2 gigs of Ram and so far am very happy with it.
It's pretty quick.
The only thing that bugs me is the small laptop keyboard....I have big hands/fingers and really miss the full size keyboards....

Don't worry computers will keep getting better and prices will keep going lower. Expect even better deals before summer.

Agree.
Prices are still dropping and more features are being added. No reason to rush and buy one if you don't have to.

Hardware prices always drop around this time of year, because all the new tech is coming out...

Best time to buy computer parts is end of Feb-Aug. After that you have back-to-school, then X-mas, where the prices go up again.

No worries if you missed out. As was suggested above, there will be other opportunities.

From the "inside" I can see the prices coming down from the manufacturers and at the wholesale level. RAM and CPU prices fluctuate almost daily but overall there will be lots of good shopping days ahead. :)
