What is the life expectancy while on Mars? Oh, guess I should read the article.

I would hope the ratio is closer to 50/50, sort of like "Survivor". In this case, I hope the ladies are open-minded and want to fcuk around.

Mind you, everybody is presumably medically tested so nobody on board has AIDS. It will be a bareback fuckfest.

i certainly would go if allowed... think of all the 'firsts' you could attach your name to in Mars

I'd certainly consider it. It's the ultimate adventure. To be one of the first colonists of Mars...that's an incredible accomplishment.

To be honest though, I think it would frighteningly isolated. There wouldn't be much communication with Earth. All ties you have with people here at home would be severed the day you blast off. All the comforts you became accustomed to here would be non-existent. You'd probably be mostly couped up inside. There wouldn't be much variety in scenery and livelihood. Depending on how many people go, you wouldn't have much in the way of social variety either.

What I find the most disturbing though, is that the first people sent would most likely die before anything major was accomplished. A one-way ticket to see the beginning of something incredible, but which you'll never see come to fruition. I don't think I could accept that.

I would go if I was invited, but I wouldn't bother applying because I don't think I have skills they're looking for. I doubt they want someone just hanging around making wisecracks or only doing physical labour or what I do for a living, they want those with a science or engineering background.
Maybe I'd be used only for impregnating the females? :eyebrows:

We're all going to die somewhere, it doesn't matter to me if it was on Mars.

I'm surprised that so quickly some people here on TERB say that they might go. And for what it's worth, I'm very certain that women must go in order to give birth there and propogate the human race.

They should make a movie out of this. They all pass their psychiatric evaluations, but then when they get there....

Wouldn't it be funny if the 400 people that do go are greeted by a welcoming committee of 400 that arrived earlier (because of advanced warp-space tech)

Mars is closer to earths temperpent more then any other planet .There is evidence that Mars once had rivers, streams, lakes, and even an ocean. As Mars' atmosphere slowly depleted into outer space, the surface water began to permanently evaporate. Today the only water on Mars in either frozen in the polar caps or underground. If you weighed 70 pounds on earth you would weigh 27 pounds on mars Mar.s has higher mountains, and deeper canyons than any other planet
