Tonight Tom Glavine won his 290th MLB game. Should he remain healthy, will he (or perhaps Randy Johnson with 280 wins) be last the pitcher ever to win 300 games?

They were saying that 10 years ago... and voila Clemens, Maddux, Johnson, Glavine.

So the obvious answer.. of course not.

Or 21 seasons averaging about 14 a year.

Of course it is not a feat that can be done in 15 years, but why put in such context when alot of pitchers pitch more then 15 years?

Don't discount Mike Mussina who now has 240 wins. Is he likely too? No but he has a fighting chance.

Another way to look at it is that a starting pitcher is still going to get the same number of starts as always. Same number of chances to get a W.

And with conditioning and pitch counts and the constant need for pitching (especially lefties) many pitchers can have looong careers.
