Entirely correct - he's a 33 year old two month rental, so a first round draft pick for a shot. It's all predicated on how close they think they are at real shot.
Honestly, I have no clue given the lack of exposure to the top contenders in the league.
I think the road to the Scotia North division title goes through Winnipeg. The is no reason why the Leafs shouldn't win the North....
It could very well be just a “false sense of prosperity“ but I do think the additions of Simmonds, Bogosian, and now Foligno will make them a better “playoff team”. Whether or not that’s good enough remains to be seen. A lot will also hinge on goaltending. Campbell or Andersen if and when he gets back in are both unproven. The Leafs will be in deep trouble if they have to rely on Rittich or any other goalie in the system.Entirely correct - he's a 33 year old two month rental, so a first round draft pick for a shot.
The one thing we know for certain in a weak north division are the number of teams that would NOT be playoff contenders in any normal division in any normal year:
Ottawa, Calgary, Vancouver, probably not Montreal who would at best by fighting for a wildcard spot, and I don't think Edmonton because of inconsistency, defence and goaltending.
Winnipeg would be fighting for a wildcard vs. divisional 3rd spot.
Then there's the Leafs who haven't had to play a solid defensive team all year.... so they look good, don't they?
To reflect the current market: Taylor Hall and Curtis Lazar went to the Bruins for a 2nd round pick plus Anders Bjork.Foligno is strictly a rental
That I didn't know since I didn't use google. Dart would be proud.Taylor Hall dictated where he would go.
He wanted to go to Boston, and only Boston.
The man has a full NMC in his contract.
Or have a parade.Wouldn’t put it past Toronto to friggin’ finally win a cup in 54 years in a year no fans will be allowed in the building!
D’oh
keep dreaming.Or have a parade.
I've been thinking the same thing.
