Looks like Salah is going to play for Egypt after all. Ramos better get security

Egyptians rage against Sergio Ramos after Mohamed Salah’s injury

With less than three weeks to go until the start of the 2018 football World Cup, Mohamed Salah, the beloved star of the Egyptian national team, was injured Saturday night in Kiev in the Champions League final between Real Madrid and Liverpool.

In the 25th minute of play, Madrid defender Sergio Ramos sent him to the ground, wrenching Salah's shoulder. A few moments later, Salah left the pitch in tears.

In addition to Liverpool’s loss, Salah’s participation in the World Cup in Russia is now under threat. Egypt, which is playing in its first World Cup since 1990, will compete against Uruguay on June 15 in group A.

'Ramos the dog'

Across social networks, the supersonic striker's injury has spawned many comments aimed at Ramos, Real's captain. Egyptian Twitter has also launched an angry hashtag: # راموس_الكلب or #RamosTheDog.
Ramos stands accused of having deliberately wounded Salah, who remains the hero of Egypt's World Cup qualification. On social media Ramos’s image is sometimes portrayed as a wrestler or even the devil. Some local media have also expressed their outrage.

Egyptian billionaire Naguib Sawiris joined the tweet storm, swearing that the Madrid captain "will be held accountable".

"Egyptian fans are stunned, they were shocked by the images of Mohamed Salah's injury," said Mostajab Abdallah, FRANCE 24’s Cairo correspondent. “Now worried about what this means for the World Cup, they seem inconsolable."

Even if he went for the ball, Ramos tucked his arm in. Salah had no way to break the fall, more than likely he has a separated shoulder. It was a red in my book. He tried the same thing on Mandzukic but got bumped away so Ramos tried to twist his wrist as he went down. The penalty was given but Juve had dug too deep a hole to comeback. Carvajal injury is more serious than it looked, he tore a hamstring on an innocuous play.
Almost any other defender on the planet and I would be willing to believe it was an unfortunate accident that took Salah out of the game. However Ramos is a notoriously dirty player with over 20 red cards to his name (many of them of the cynical variety) and at least twice as many sketchy at best acts worthy of straight red cards. It really did deflate the game as Liverpool were in it with what was close to their strongest eleven (missing Ox)...but all long we have known that they lacked the depth of other European heavyweights. Of course Karrius made sure that any air Liverpool had was taken away...feel for him as he will likely never get a chance at a top tier club again.

Mino Raiola is a greedy bastard, he should be given a bum's rush. Klopp has offered Ac Milan $53.2 million for Gianluigi Donnarumma. He doesn't turn 20 till Fenruary, he may not be tough enough to handle the pressure of EPL football. I don't want to see his confidence destroyed.

Real Madrid is looking for a new coach. Perhaps Michael Laudrup will get the job.

Idiot preacher, I'm sure Egyptians aren't going to be happy with these comments.

Salah injury is God’s punishment for breaking his fast, says Kuwaiti preacher

Egyptian football star Mohammed Salah’s injury during last Saturday’s match against Real Madrid was God’s punishment because he broke his fast, a Kuwaiti preacher has claimed.

In his tweet on Monday, preacher Mubarak al-Bathali said that God punished the Liverpool star with an injury because he broke his fast for the match.

According to the cleric, Salah is allowed to skip the fast because of his travel but he did commit a sin by intending to break his fast for the game instead.

The athlete suffered a shoulder injury in the UEFA Champions League final Saturday causing him to exit the game only after the first 31 minutes.

“God punished him. Unfortunately, [he will] bear the burden. Do not think the Muslim believes that life is managed by reason and effort, but life is the hand of God comes to whom he will, whether hard or not diligent,” a translation of the tweet read.

“Perhaps [the injury] is good for you,” Al-Bathali added.
Al-Bathali said he hopes the star considers his injury as a lesson and a reminder that everything happens by God’s will. “Preachers who said it is acceptable for him to break his fast have also permitted other things”, he said.

He also added that Salah is considered an ambassador for Muslims who has changed the image of Muslims in the West. He also praised Salah for his other habits such as walking away when his teammates drink alcohol.
