Amazing first half from Liverpool, Salah is on fire. I think if they had Van Dijk from the beginning of the season they would have won the Premier league. I wonder what Coutinho is thinking right now.

Italian teams traditionally don't do well in England.

Shit happens I guess

Didn’t like those two away goals. When Salah goes off Liverpool almost look like a completely different team with no one up top to hold the ball up or being an outlet making good runs, so they just keep dropping deeper and deeper.

Hopefully they can get an away goal which should finish off the tie, but I definitely do not think it is over yet.

A strange game. It looked like a switch was pulled on Roma 10 minutes into the first half, and only switched on again halfway into the second half. Bizarre.

Financial Fair Play rules have been a disaster, I hate it that Roma has to sell their best players. It has punished the mid-level clubs to the profit of the blood money clubs. Liverpool knocking out ManCity was justice done.

Last summer they sold Luca Digne to Barcelona and Mo Salah to Liverpool. I don't expect EDF to be able to pull a rabbit out of a hat again, different clubs. Barcelona are an undersized club, the Giallorossi wore them down over two legs. Liverpool are a much bigger and stronger club. The match an Anfield was a supercazzone for Roma. Maybe it's all for the best, I don't want to see Real Madrid win the CL again.

EDF spent five years coaching tiny Sassuolo. During that time they were never below mid-table and got into the Europa League in 2016. It's not beyond the realm of possibility that he replaces Wenger at Arsenal.

Andres Iniesta to leave Barcelona at end of season

Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta will leave the Spanish club at the end of the season.

The Spain midfielder, 33, has made 669 appearances in 16 seasons, winning 31 trophies with Barca and three major tournaments for Spain.

Iniesta, who has been linked to a move to the Chinese Super League, has not said where he will play next season.

"I said I would never play against Barca so it is not going to be in Europe," he said.

"We will know at the end of the season - there are still things to talk about."

Iniesta has won the 2010 World Cup, Euro 2008 and Euro 2012 with Spain, as well as four Champions Leagues and eight La Liga titles - soon set to become nine - with Barcelona.

"It is a difficult day for me to be here saying goodbye when I've spent my whole life here," he said in an emotional news conference watched by his family, team-mates and manager Ernesto Valverde.

Fighting back tears, he added: "A great deal of who I am, is down to Barca and La Masia - I am very thankful to them.

"I spoke to a lot of people - players, coaches - and I know what they want, but I tried to be honest with myself and the club."

Andres Iniesta won 456 of his 669 Barca games
Iniesta has been an integral part of the Barcelona team this season, scoring in the 5-0 Copa del Rey final win over Sevilla.

They have five games left this season and will wrap up the title if they avoid defeat by Deportivo la Coruna on Sunday.

He has spent his entire career with Barcelona after joining as a 12-year-old and has made the second most appearances in the club's history - behind Xavi, his midfield partner of over a decade before his 2015 move to Al Sadd in Qatar.

Iniesta was magnificent in Saturday's cup final win over Sevilla, scoring an excellent goal and running the game before coming off to a standing ovation from both sets of fans.

"I want to be remembered as a great footballer and a great player," he said. "When our football days are over, that's all we are - people."

Please, I implore you to never forgive him for that goal. That's exactly what keeps the legacy of a legend alive. Keep on keeping on.

It's exactly that sort of goal that makes Andres Iniesta a Royal amongst peons. Along with this one that cast a blanket of silence over Stamford bridge in 2009. It was a Divine Moment of Beauty to behold:

“Iniesta is the boyfriend that every mother wants her daughter to have. The figures over his career tell you all you need to know. He is a magical player. There are few players in the world that can compare to him.”

~ Sergio Ramos (this from a Merengue!!!)

“Iniesta’s ability to create assists is one of the best in the world. You have to be very good at marking them both [Iniesta and Messi] and limit their threat.”

~ Massimiliano Allegri

“He’s fantastic. He makes the team work. The way he finds passes, his movement and ability to create space is incredible. He’s so important for Barcelona.”

Ahh! Tom Ovrebo was the MOTM for Barca that day. I'm still bitter about that day.

Andres Iniesta, the ultimate trequartista.

Fiorentina 3 Napoli 0

Giovanni Simeone scores a hat trick and steps permanently out of his father's shadow.

4 - 2 aggregate Real.

Pep Guardiola did Real a massive favour. Anyone with half a brain would not have sold them Toni Kroos. It's unfortunate that Carlo had to foot the bill.

4-3 actually. Then again, RM should maybe not have loaned James to Bayern.

I would take Nainggolan over James 365 days of the year, James is overrated. Ancelotti's worst mistake.

Pep isn't such a genius without Messi. At least Mourinho won the CL with Inter, a club without a superstar.

Fillipo, if Sneijder were a superstar, Holland would have won the WC. He needed to be better than Xavi for that and he wasn't.

Individual scoring doesn't matter if you don't bring home the big prize. In fairness, he did make some crucial passes that allowed Inter to take the Champions Cup. And, unlike with Holland, he had Cambiasso, Vieira and Cordoba to support him.
