Did they immediately apply the discount? I read somewhere that they will only apply it when you come up for renewal so I haven't bothered to call (yet).
My policy comes up for renewal in two months but they applied it immediately to my monthly payments. I'm with TD/Monnex.

I've also had good luck with my Bell telephone, Fibe and rogers cell phone bills. If you see a better deal with a competitor, call them and threaten to switch cause you feel you're paying too much. They'll transfer you to their retention department and usually match and in cases for me they've done much better to keep my business.

Chasing my tail
Just renewed with TD. I belong to a university of Waterloo alumni group. I also insure 3 cars with them. My rate remains the same, going into third year in a row now
$860., for a 2011 Road Glide Ultra
I too am with TD. MY SO's alumni applied for the initial rate. I don't insure anything else however with them. Dejardin now seems to be an affordable option for some in my area.

I was with Primmum for years. They recently moved me over to TD. They upped my rates a little bit every year and at renewal time a few weeks back the rate was going to be almost $1100 for a '94 Virago 1100. My record is spotless. Anyway they were the best price anywhere when I shopped around years back, but I'd had enough. I called up my broker and had her get me a quote with Wawanesa who I have my house and truck with. She got back to me with a price under $500. I switched immediately.
A friend at work said everyones bike insurance skyrocketed this year. I guess mine already had. But I'm finally paying a reasonable rate.
