Real scientists all along predicted this would be the results of Global Warming! They rightfully said GW would cause more severe weather patterns and storms but they were ridiculed by well paid pseudo scientists working for special interests who stood to lose if policies to curb GW were put in effect! It is beginning to look like the Real scientists were correct all along as massive tornadoes rip the country apart as never before!
~500 DEAD so far and 2011 Tornado season is only half over!....

Mind-boggling tornado count, deaths raise hard questions about causes, warnings & response

By Andrew Freedman Posted at 10:00 AM ET, 05/25/2011

Approximately 1,000 tornadoes. Nearly 500 dead. The numbers are staggering as the 2011 tornado season rages at a record pace. From the the EF5 tornado that struck Joplin, Mo., killing at least 122 people to become the deadliest tornado in the U.S. since 1950, to the pair of explosive and deadly April tornado outbreaks, and now also yesterday’s Plains outbreak moving east today, this year’s barrage of violent twisters has people asking questions about everything from the impact of climate change on tornadoes, to the accuracy and effectiveness of short-term severe weather warnings.

Given the sheer volume of the tornado chatter, the online equivalent to a twister’s whipping winds, it’s useful to take a step back and review the important questions that need to be asked at this point, while reminding ourselves of what is generally known.

Climate change connection?

First, on the “are all these tornadoes a manifestation of global warming?” question, there is a consensus on that, but it’s neither comforting nor conclusive. We simply don’t know.... [more]

Climate change I think is a valid science but you'll never convince the naysayers.Simply because next year there may not be the same vicious weather conditions and you'll hear a chorus oh" Oh yeah!!!...where's your "global warming" now !?!?"

If you chart natural disasters and related items over the last 30 years there has definitely been an uptick of occurences......but your wasting your time explaining that to certain factions of society.

If a massive climate change event ever claimed their lives they'd spend their last minutes on earth clinging to their bibles or their billfolds.Be damned with science.

Worst death toll since the 50's when the forecasting and warning systems were much less advanced and the season is really just starting. I was in Edmonton during the 1987 tornado. Didn't see the actual tornado but still remember clearly the storm blowing through on a Friday afternoon and shock as word of many deaths, believe it was 27, started to come from the media.

It was not the case in Joplin, but I heard public safety officials in Oklahoma saying that there was a problem with complacency, the sirens sounded, and people stood outside looking to see the tornados rather than getting into storm shelters and that a number of newer houses did not have storm cellars.

Some of these storm chasers amaze me ha ha ha and not in a good way. Saw a clip a day or two ago where they were meters from the twister which lifted a telephone pole out of the ground and over top of their vehicle.

Did a search and here is the video, go to 1:40 for the flying telephone pole.

For a moment there I thought Peckrhead was blaming all of this on GW (Bush).
LOL!
Dubya does share some blame here since him and his DICK always claimed GW was a myth that should be ignored!....:eyebrows:

Stupid comment.

Bush obviously could not cause Katrina. What he did do was abandon New Orleans after the carnage. It has yet to be seen how Obama will deal with the aftermath.

It is simple really, as the population increases there will always be more victims. Just goes to show you cannot fool mother nature.

Dubya just threw those folks under the bus. Fidel Castro offered to send 1500 doctors to help but Team 'w' turned that offer down preferring to just let 1000s of folks in New Orleans die....
