Great World Series has just been set...

Red Sox vs. Cardinals

Two historic teams, I am looking forward to a great series with some awesome talent in two fantastic baseball cities.

I am indifferent about who wins, how about you?

Here and there
I'm old enough to remember their '67 Series, won by the Cards in game 7 by Bob Gibson over Jim Lonborg at the Fens.

Just like then, I'll be cheering for the Sox, but my gut feeling is Cards in seven...

I'm not invested in either team enough to wager, or care that much about the result.
Although, the schadenfreude in me would like to see the Curse stick around. ;)

Im not invested in either thats why i want to bet so it will make it more interesting and to be able to cheer for one team more than another. I think im missing out on something if im not really interested in whos going to win.

So, you want a *monetary* wager. :)
Because I'm not sure I'm going to be all that sorry if I have to come in here and post how great the Red Sox are - not much in that kind of wager ......

i know what you mean. Monetary would be hard to pay up though. Hard to say, im just throwing it out there. If you have any ideas im open to them. Otherwise ill just watch for the sake of watching some good baseball. Geez imagine that concept eh? ;)

Why is Wakefield starting game 1? So if Pedro doesnt come in game 7, unnecessarily mind you, he would probably start, now he wont. Or was Boston trying to secure the win and thus wanted him in there even though they were up 8-1.........

Wakefield starts game 1 because he's pretty much the only pitcher that can pitch game 1. Schilling will go game 2 on 4 days rest. Pedro going game 3 sets him up to go game 7 in Fenway.
Pedro came into Game 7 in NY because they wanted to shut down the Yankees. It was the 7th inning, and the last thing you want is the Yankees to chip away at the lead in the 7th and 8th to set up a chance to bring the tying run to the plate in the 9th.

I'm pulling for the Sox also, but Boston better be prepared for what is going to happen in the streets should they win. Hopefully, the woman killed by police after game 7 will be a wake up call.

I'd like to see the Cardinals win. Only because they have that good Canadian kid Larry Walker on board.

Has a Canadian every been on a World Series Championship winning team? --- Kev
