There are certain cities in Canada that have bylaws strapped on !

For instance in Barrie you need a liscense for outcalls .....there is also a no touching policy ....A serious joke ! not even allowed to hold hands ......The bylaw office is the pimp here ...indys and agency girls pay thousands on liscening fees . to bylaw they are .living off the avails .....not to mention they want names of every client with adresses on file ...serious privacy issue if you ask me !!!....I just cant believe that noone has challenged this ....but if you drive out of barrie ..to cities near by that are like 10 minutes theres no bylaws

The Barrie bylaw is actually well written and only applies to traditional, non-sex escorts. The bylaw even states that.

Independent prostitutes who provide outcalls do not have to get a license unless the local papers require that you do have one. There is no reason why an independent prostitute could not post an ad as a prostitute and argue that it is not an escort ad, even though that would be a pain in the butt.

Of course, agencies and independents who provide incalls have to pretend to be traditional escorts.

Barrie's bylaw is worded much differently than Calgary's. It does not mean that someone will not challenge it and possibly win due to confusion, like Calgary, however Barrie's bylaw does define exactly what it is licensing, which is not prostitution.
