Which gang are you referring to?? The NYPD??Don't join a gang and expect to remain untouched from gang violence

I would not demonize the Police, but I think there are certainly some cultural issues with the many police forces. Pres. Obama has talked about the militarization of the police, and I think that is a BIG problem. The people who demonize the police are just as guilty as the shooter.
Actually what she is advocating is an escalation. More violence targeting police (who as individuals may have done nothing wrong) makes it more likely that hyped up cops shoot more innocents. Then again, neither is police killing people with impunity. So the whole thing's fucked, innit. She's just advocating for a fucked (non)solution.
Escalation, solution... any way we or she cares to characterise it, methinks we're agreed that it's one fucked up and stupid response to an already awful situation.Actually what she is advocating is an escalation. More violence targeting police (who as individuals may have done nothing wrong) makes it more likely that hyped up cops shoot more innocents.
good point. Nothing but dead silence so far.If Al and Jesse were TRUE Men of GOD they would come forward and denounce the murder of the two Police Officers. Am I dreaming? Most likely.
But why has this been? Violence towards police which in the past has let to Army Reserve National Guard Units being used to assist police (not a violation of the Posse Comitatus act of 1878, since they are in this instance State Militia) has lead to police wanting this equipment.Pres. Obama has talked about the militarization of the police, and I think that is a BIG problem.
No. They are not.The people who demonize the police are just as guilty as the shooter.
you two wanted that to be the case so badly too.good point. Nothing but dead silence so far.
Also, armored vehicles are used to rescue innocent bystanders hurt in riots.Violence towards police which in the past has let to Army Reserve National Guard Units being used to assist police (not a violation of the Posse Comitatus act of 1878, since they are in this instance State Militia) has lead to police wanting this equipment.
I watched the video.Perhaps Mr.Sharptons remarks were spliced, but I didn't hear him say anything about the shooting of the two officers. He talked mainly about the cause of justice for the two dead black men and keeping that clear and undiluted .you two wanted that to be the case so badly too.
Stick your fingers in your ears a little deeper and yel LALALALALALALALA! a little louder, willya?I watched the video.Perhaps Mr.Sharptons remarks were spliced, but I didn't hear him say anything about the shooting of the two officers. He talked mainly about the cause of justice for the two dead black men and keeping that clear and undiluted .
Our city is hurting, we are hurting. Today we mourn the loss of two NYPD officers who were gunned down in a vicious act of senseless violence.
As soon as news broke of the tragedy in Brooklyn, I spoke with both the families of Eric Garner and Michael Brown. And let me be perfectly clear, we are all outraged and saddened by the deaths of these police officers. Any use of the names of Eric Garner and Michael Brown, in connection with any violence or killing of police, is reprehensible and against the pursuit of justice in both cases.
- Rev. Al Sharpton
