The Brunswick house was part of the appeal of future bakery. It was fun sitting on the FB patio watching the drunks coming out of the brunnie getting into fights.

Too bad about Queen Video.

My friend used to tease me and say I was a "made man" there as I rented there so often the waived the 6 movies at once maximum.

The Queen Video on Bloor not far from the soon to be former Brunswick House is still open (for now).

I just heard on the radio that the Brunswick House will be becoming a Rexall drugstore.
I think that is a better fit for that neighborhood. Houses there are going for $1.5million and up.

The Brunswick House (1975 - 2016). R.I.P.

Long overdue.

And Honest Ed's has always been a huge eyesore.

I'm loving all the revitalization projects and gentrification being made across this city.

I wonder what's going up across the street on the north west side of blood across from the Brunswick house or if the buyer is going to leave it unchanged. I believe everything on that corner lot sold for around $20 million a few months ago.

A couple of comments.

There's a group of people running around trying to get almost every building declared "heritage".

Wonder how the revitalized Regent Park will work out. Another murder near there yesterday.

Half of the city of Toronto can use a face lift.

But a good idea to revamp the downtown Yonge/Dundas area. it's muchbetter now. Clean up with nicer stores and restaurants. A lot fewer of those junky souvenir shops and crusty buildings.

I don't understand how all these junky stores on Yonge st even survive. Are there that many people buying stuff from all these old sketchy stores? Or were they granted cheap leases that were contracted for decades?

Not perfect though. They still have to clean up the east side of Yonge south of Dundas. The west side is much better.

Bloor subway is already a disaster in the morning. Can't wait for another condo to go up at Bloor and Bathurst...
