Maybe some of those thousands of Ford workers laid off today can apply.

The future is with Toyota, Honda, and Nissan, not Ford, and GM.

Man, those numbers are nothing. You guys should try High Tech and watch Nortel discharge 12,000 in Ottawa alone...

If you notice he didn't count out Chrysler. It appears Chrysler is making good cars.

What has GM or Ford done lately?
The Charger is out performing the Impalla, and Impalla sales will drop when they lose all the police contracts. Then where will Oshawa be?

Calling the feds and asking for more " investment money" in GM jobs. Thats just a fancy way of saying get the taxpayers to subsidize the inflated union payscale.

Lost in the Ford news is the fact that DaimlerChrysler is expecting to lose $1.5 billion this year. They are doing a geat job!

Well, just so you know Impala sales are up and outperforming the Chrysler 300 and the Oshawa plant that makes them is working overtime!
Theres 3 shifts there at a capacity of 1500 cars a day,so i doubt very much that the Charger is even on the radar screen.
Besides, none of you fuckers will be happy till you see everyone driving a fucking nip car will ya??

well oshawa happens to be the most profitable GM plan in North America.. and they just won the camero project... oh and the impala is at its highest sales yet... their 4 cyl is economical, fuel efficient and affordable to the avg joe.. heres the thing with Toyota,,, they cost too much and their quality is not as far ahead the big three as it used to be.. the thing is GM/Ford/Chrystler used to be really bad.. now they are not ( thanks in part to the sharing of technology betw. US/JPN industry) so how do you sell Toyotas that are over priced to blue collar consumers who are no longer convinced that the quality is worth the buck??? you don't... oh and wait till Toyota get unionized.. it'll happen.. then we will see how great they are

The Japanese quality and reliability is so far ahead of Ford and in particular GM, it isn't funny. On top of that is the performance superiority.

Yes, GM and Ford can make some pretty good sports cars, but their day to day drivers are pigs. Fat, floaty, with terrible handling, sloppy steering, under performing engines that have a tendancy to die a premature death.

You can not compare the driving performance of a Honda Accord to a Chevy Impala. The Impala is simple a piece of shit.

The only reason that GM is selling cars at all is all the buyer incentives they are offering. Everything from 0% interest, to $6,000 in buyer freebees, to free delivery.

Other than the corvette, GM doesn't make a single car that will turn my head. The Grand Prix for example. It's looked the same for 20 years and it's a fucking boring pig of a fat assed car.

Investing 1 dollar to make 3 or 4 is what I call a good investment. Taxpayers money or not.

And don't forget, the feds and the province tax those salaries at about 40% as well.

It's money well spent.

I guess that is why Toyota is the largest manufacturer of automobiles in the world.

I believe in the USA, they now sell more vehicles than Ford

It will not be long before the unions force Ford and GM to go tits up. If you ask me, it can't happen soon enough

Several U.S. states were reportedly prepared to offer more than double that amount of subsidy. But Fedchun said much of that extra money would have been eaten away by higher training costs than are necessary for the Woodstock project.

He said Nissan and Honda have encountered difficulties getting new plants up to full production in recent years in Mississippi and Alabama due to an untrained - and often illiterate - workforce. In Alabama, trainers had to use "pictorials" to teach some illiterate workers how to use high-tech plant equipment.

Problem with that logic is that the jobs dry up when the subsidy ends. Those types of jobs at that wage level in Canada and the USA can not continue in a world wide economy.

Typical myopic conservative visionless logic LL!
Further proof that myopia is indeed a dominant gene in conservatives/tories mindset!
bot, aka OTB, another myopic mental 'twin' like you couldn't have said it better.....LOL.
Sure your not really bot...... Lancie?.......;)

Taking that myopic logic seriously would mean that perhaps NASA should be eliminated also!
NASA fits rather nicely into the myopic model you construct!

Your anti-union bias is showing. So I won't bother arguing with you.;)
