Every time I hear statements like this and carvher's all I hear is people who can't get why black people don't being subject to racism.
Did you not read both lines of my post #20? Of course most other ethnicities, especially when they were immigrants or minorities, are currently or were at some point in time involved in gangs or even more sophisticated organized crime, and a lot of their members were "whacked" because of it.
My point is that I'm not aware of anything BLM has tried to do to reduce black on black violence, at least not publicly. I'm very open to being schooled if BLM is actually doing something in that regard...

Thinking that a group meant to fight racial inequality should also be in charge of fighting organized crime is dumb. Sorry. It's like complaining that Italian restaurants should be fighting mafia violence. If you want a deeper discussion, by fighting systemic inequality, BLM is fighting the underlying cause of poverty that is closely tied to this gang violence.
And yes, there are many groups within the black community trying to fight the scourge of gang related violence.
My only comment is that this scenario is totally f@cked up. I grew up in Scarborough at Danforth and Eglinton. I went to Midland Ave Collegiate and many of my Jr. High friends went to David & Mary Thompson. We had many grudge matches against each other arising from foootball and rugby competition and with all the other schools in our district (Woburn, RH King, Thompson, Cedabrae, Porter, Churchill..etc) and some times it ended up in fist-a-cuffs but to pull a knife or bat or any other weapon? UNTHINKABLE! This pos is a coward who deserves to spend the rest of his life in jail. Even as an old geezer I welcome the opportunity to meet him mano-a-mano and stomp on his face and teach him a lesson
