That creepy looking 14 yo
Do we even have institutions for the criminally insane?Should be tried as an adult and locked up for life, either in a prison or a criminally mental institution.
Designated hospitals under the Criminal Code and Youth Criminal Justice ActDo we even have institutions for the criminally insane?
It's not that we don't have the facilities, it's that they would rather not spend the money to treat someone until they do something like this. They will hand you a bottle of antidepressants and send you home. It's not until you victimize an innocent member of the public that they will actually make the effort and even then it's only when they are legally compelled to do so by the court. Broken system.Do we even have institutions for the criminally insane?
We'll probably find out something along the lines of yes he was currently being treated under the supervision of a mental health team. Like the guy in Vancouver who plowed into the festival. This is the aftermath of Covid19 lockdowns and it will only get worse. Its a powder keg ready to explode.Looks like its a case of severe mental health disease

The thing is it's cruel and unfair to execute a 14 year old who was ignored by the system that was supposed to help him and prevent things like this from happening. Society is going mad and the mental health systems protocol is to turn a blind eye until something like this happens. We need not look any further than all of the TTC incidents for a clear picture on how things currently being handled. There is no justice for victims of crimes in Canada. We should let the victims family decide what happens to the criminals. I would vote for death.
I do not think that the " EXPERTS " can accurately predict which of the obviously mental ill will do something that is dangerous to others. . If 20 or 30 % exhibit alarming symptoms in this world should we hospitalize them all ? To be honest I do not care if this sickening example of a human being was abused as a child , whether she fell on her head as a child and suffered brain damage , if she grew up in a difficult environment or if she was 11 or 31 when she did the deadly assault - she is damaged so badly beyond repair and the odds of the best experts and boatloads of $'s ever turning her into a worthwhile human being are slim to none. It's not that we don't have the facilities, it's that they would rather not spend the money to treat someone until they do something like this. It's not a matter of predicting, it's a matter of treating everyone that attempts to get help instead of ignoring the warning signs. Somehow I think you may have a different perspective if it was your own child that was mentally ill and had a psychotic episode and the reality is most mental illnesses are very treatable. Also the suspect in this case is a male or at least presents as one.I do not think that the " EXPERTS " can accurately predict which of the obviously mental ill will do something that is dangerous to others. . lock her up for life.
Fuck that little asshole, bullet in the head. It`s on video FFS, he`s probably already out on bail. This country is so weak and pathetic. There is no justice for victims of crimes in Canada. We should let the victims family decide what happens to the criminals. I would vote for death.
There is not enough money in Canada to provide what probably amounts to tens of thousands of dollars per mentally ill candidate to provide what would probably amount to a lifetime of what often amounts to failed therapy. I can think of dozens of situations where I would much prefer that tax dollars be spent on than this piece of human trash who I would guess is too badly damaged to salvage . Unfortunately there will always be many who fall through the cracks even in the richest and most caring societies. Society [ and the patient ] are often better served by a life in lockdown [ or a terminal drug overdose or a suicide ] . Sad but true. It's not a matter of predicting, it's a matter of treating everyone that attempts to get help instead of ignoring the warning signs. Ah ha, but actually there is plenty of money to pay for mental health supports. The problem is we are sending it to fund the war in the Ukraine and buying tampon machines for the mens washrooms. Like I said, broken system. One other thing worth mentioning is the preventative costs in situations like this. If it would have cost $50,000 to treat this kid to so that this didn't happen versus the costs now of housing, prosecuting and treating his mental illness once he's found NCR. We are now talking millions...There is not enough money in Canada to provide what probably amounts to tens of thousands of dollars per mentally ill candidate to provide what would probably amount to a lifetime of what often amounts to failed therapy.
