Its entirely predictable. another chip we can negotiate with. Trump is behaving EXACTLY in line with Carneys speech. Oil sales to USA 100%? Potash 100%? Aluminum 100%? Even with 50% tariff on AL they are still being forced to buy it with NO DISCOUNTS.

There is a HEALTHY market for our Potash, fresh water, oil etc. Trump really thinks he has Canada over a barrel? Guess we'll see, but man it's weird seeing people root for Trump in this dispute. Are you Canadian or not? Can't fix partisan or stupid. (not directed at you nott)

I suspect there will be a discreet call from China and the USA will have to back down. I am pretty sure that Carney and Xi discussed this and what to do about it if Trump acts with predictable retardation. Its also likely Carney discussed his speech long before he gave it, as part of his travels, and part of his travels is coalition building.

I just want to take this opportunity to applaud China for cleaning up it's act and conducting itself in a trustworthy fashion. In a few short months they went from the 'biggest threat to Canada' as quoted by Skid Mark to trusted trading partners who we no longer have to keep our eye on to the point that their spyware polluted products can safely be used here in Canada.
