100+ Girls

Was checking the Hostesses page for Club Alpha this week, and I see they have 114 girls listed.

How can the industry sustain that many, for just one club? Are many of these girls ones who work very PT, say 1-2 times a month? Is this a sign that the economy/employment situation is that bad? Or that the stigma has gone down and more women are willing to work in the industry?

I've always marveled that the dozens and dozens of women who work in this industry, all manage to make enough money for it to be worthwhile staying in business. On the other hand, I have known sp who got into it, failed to attract clients, could not even pay their hotel bill, begged me to loan them money and eventually had to quit. The industry is remorseless in pruning out those who cannot make a go of it, for whatever reasons.

I noticed the sharp increase of new hostesses at alpha as well, and made me wonder the same thing:. Economic situation, or more female entrepreneurs looking at it as a great business opportunity. I hope is the latter.

Another thing to consider is that a lot of them are VERY part time at Alpha. Some of them working only one or two shifts per week, and sometimes less than that. Many of them have another job (or jobs!) and many of them are in school as well. You have to watch the schedules to see when one of your favourites is working, because some of them only make an appearance once in a while.....

Now, that being said, I think that they have been a bit slow in the past of cleaning up/updating the roster on the site. I know sometimes that people were still listed, who had long since left, moved on, etc. As well, some of the newer ones try it out for a few weeks (or months) and decide it's not for them -- and there there seemed to be some lag time in removing their profiles from the site.

Overall I think it's a great thing to have such a huge selection of hostesses to choose from --- I have been around these parts long enough to remember when it was nothing like this I mean I remember before spas even had websites or twitter, and research was a lot more of "show up at the spa, open the door, cross your fingers, and hope for the best"
