During the US Civil War (early 1860s) the Confederate States of America ran a POW camp called Andersonville that could reasonably be called a concentration camp. It was a horrible, overcrowded, disease infested place with inadequate water supply. Of the 45,000 prisoners nearly 13,000 died. The camp commander was tried and executed for war crimes.

A concentration camp does not necessarily mean bad conditions. Andersonville was a POW camp where soldiers were kept. The Americans had concentration camps where they forcefully kept Japanese-American citizens.

Carrol Shelby worked for Enzo Ferrari, Ferrari was a tyrant that pushed people to the limit. Enzo pushed test drivers to do dangerous things and several were killed testing cars. Shelby quite and went back to the US and would refuse to speak to Ferrari at any future events.
