I don't expect to ever see a homeopath but to be fair, it is no longer the centuries old quackery of diluting toxins but is rather a field of 'healing' using non-pharma solutions.

In some respects I see it as a push-back against the marketing of drugs for every silly little ache or discomfort.

I support the government oversight for two simple reasons. One is that there have been people working the business for a long time and they should be regulated. Second, I would expect part of their training would include telling people to go see a doctor when it is something serious.

It's pretty arrogant for us to think Western medicine is better than traditional medicine.....

If you consider it arrogant to practice the scientific method when studying medicine then so be it.

And if a traditional treatment passes scientific muster, it becomes part of modern medicine. Leeches and maggots come to mind.

You misunderstood my statement I think.
I'm all for western medicine. But I am also an advocate for natural medicines when appropriate.
I meant that just because traditional medicine does not 'meet the standards' of western medicine, doesn't mean it can't be effective.

Absolutely.

No doctor would ever recommend to me that if I am feeling under the weather that I drink 2 neo citrons and glass of brandy.
But in the morning, 9 times out of 10 I feel right as rain.
That 1 time out of 10... well, let's not talk about that.
