I'm especially keen on responses from the ladies, but guys are welcome to post too. What are your favourites? Ever make love to a Beethoven symphony, or perhaps Stravinsky's Rite of Spring? Maybe you like a little Chopin to set a romantic mood before doing the deed. Many people fear that classical music is dying. Do you agree? Do you care? Perhaps you find classical music inherently un-sexy. if so, why?
Did you do anything creative with that flute you played in high school?
I love classical music! My absolute favourite piece of all time is 12 Etudes, Op. 25: No. 11 in A minor by Frederick Chopin. The piece is also referred to as Winter Wind which when you listen to it sounds (to me) exactly like a winter scene! Starting with soft snow fall and then suddenly a gust of wind blows and turns the gentle scene into a blizzardy chaos. Or at least that’s how I interpret it.
IMHO Hayato Sumino plays it the best!
I’m always impressed and astonished at the dexterity of their fingers to hit all those keys so quickly without a single mistake!
In general, I like to listen to classical music to relax, or to focus on a task. It’s very soothing to me. I also like to try to pick out and isolate all the instruments I can hear in whatever piece I’m listening too. It’s an awesome grounding exercise actually!
