Standard military doctrine is attackers have a 3-1 ratio advantage of personnel, and if it is mountainous, 9-1. Iran is mountainous.

The US may have caused problems sure. But that doesn’t matter right now, because the war has started already. It is happening. Therefore, they better achieve a desired outcome from it.
Essentially the power was conceded by Congress by just ignoring what he does as President. It's been doing this for awhile because they don't want to vote on it. Then they have to take responsibility.
