Finally the Leafs managed to win a game beating the Ducks, after losing 8 games in a row.
Matthews suffered a lower body body injury after scoring a goal, and left the game without returning.
That Ducks player played dirty by kneeing him and it was so painful that he fell on the ground not able to get up.
It was a short handed goal. Matthews paid a big price for that goal.

Radko Gudas is the same player that injured Sidney Crosby last month in the semi final game of the Olympics.

Both Rielly and Nylander claimed they didn't see the hit although the reply showed that there were no other players within a few feet and everyone should have a good look of the hit. One replay clearly showed Carlos had ghe best look but didn't react. Just utmost embarrassing.

Well, at least the Leafs play the Ducks again on March 30. Michael Pezzetta should be dressed.

The firings seem to be a working theme, no sense in firing any Leafs management or coaches. The tank job is working very well.
I wasn't inferring they should do it now with the tank going on.
Well, they used up 1 win.
They only have 1 more to take and that's it.
Don't know if missing Matthews will hinder their ability to win or inspire them.
Their PP was on fire this game.

Nazem is missed fs. We were closest when we had him.
At least last game, they were more fights. But why was nothing happening when Auston went down?

Gudas the same guy who screamed in Woll's face when the series ended. Paul Maurice found it funny.
That's what 9 years of a soft core 4 builds into a team identity. Shanahan of all people couldn't see this.
Two trades, both made by Treliving, changed the Florida Panthers identity. Tkachuk and Bennett.

They usually play better without Matthews., Call off the tank.

Belinda Carlina and Michael Pezzetta, two dagos of different stripes...one is yellow, one is orange.

Same old, same old for the Loafs...Portuguese Apollo offers his op.

This sounds funny coming from you of all people. Along with a couple of your buddies you used to defend the Shanahan/Dubas/Core 4
Era against any criticism as if your family was under attack. You'd treat it like personal injury anytime Nylander was accused of slacking off.
Now that Shanahan/Dubas are gone and the core 4 dismantled, you're throwing dirt on those you used to romance dearly. Kinda shows your true colors.

This was the culture Shanahan and Dubas established, they got rid of the only player that stood up for his teammates when they were getting slapped around at will.
And nothing has changed.
Fuck this organization.

Gudas should have got more than 5 games given his history, 8+ in my view.
5 is the "it was serious number", but that number happens enough times in a seaosn.
But once you get to 8+, its much rarer, it sends more of a message.

Did Gudas get 5 games suspension and no fine?? What a useless Player Safety Committee.

The lack of response by the Leafs when their Captain went down was not good.

Even if it just getting in there mucking it up in largely a wrestling match, an immediate response was needed.
Cowan was the closest but just skated by; although he's a rookie and the smallest guy on the ice, he should have grabbed Gudas and waited for the other guys to jump in; at least he later initiated a fight after Robertson was smashed hard into the boards.

Nylander passed the puck to Matthew's and it's nonsense that he said he didn't see what was happening; he's probably thinking "I'm the leading scorer and why shouldI be the first ?"

Rielly wore the A and I was surprised that he didn't react as he previously did in similar situations, probably the recent heavy criticisms have weighted on him that he has lost his passions;

Carlos, well absolutely no excuse for him.

Nylander didn't see what was happening?
He tracked his pass to Matthews and threw his arm up to the ref the very moment Matthews got hit.
