David Pakman outlines a growing movement in the US for blue states to push a"soft secession" while Trump is in power. I mean, we've all heard the rhetoric from the right about how Red States are the best, and they should maybe leave the Union and create a conservative utopia! They also shit on blue states/cities....BUT....what they tend to ignore is that blue states are majority giver states, as in, they provide tax revenue that is disproportionally spent on crappy red states that have barely functioning governments. While the US constitution does not have a mechanism for actual secession, this move would basically have blue states stop transferring money to the federal government.
So, imagine if the blue states stopped funding the red. Most of them would be FUCKED...
Now, in all seriousness, this would likely not happen...but imagine if Trump continued to overstep.
