First, I should note that I worked as a journalist at the Sun. I still have former co-workers and other colleagues that work there. What you fail to understand, and this is the challenge for many who lack the capacity for critical thinking, is that while a media outlet might have a political leaning, they cover the news factually. Even the Sun. They might have editorial leeway to torque things, like headlines and the angle they take. But, the real opinion that you're talking about is from columnists like Joe Warmington, Brian Lilley or Adrian Batra (all three people I worked closely with). It's ok. I've come to accept you have no standards and will just shamelessly support anything that is anti-conservative. If I were to tell you Toronto Sun as a media doesn't make opinions or hold positions, you wouldn't agree. It's whatever is convenient for your motive.
I'm going to love seeing you guys have to suck it up when Carney rolls back every stupid policy you guys backed.
So, you can look at it this way: If they are writing a factual story on, say a shooting, the news side will have all the details, quotes from witnesses and the police. A columnist could take the shooting story and use it as a cudgel to pound an argument about something like the government being soft on crime or immigration. But the thing about columnists is that they do not give both sides of the story. They usually give the paper's take on events and ignore or explain away contradictory evidence.
And, I should point out that I'm not a knee-jerk, conservatives are bad! type. I am not a cultist who blindly follows a party. I've voted both PC & Liberal, and it all depends on the party's policies. I do find it ironic that you would call me out on that when I could easily say the same thing about you being anti-Liberal. But, you probably wouldn't get it...
