Oops only a damn fool would think that trend will continue
I don't think you understand whats behind it. In a one on one with the USA Canada could not win. But the USA has wiped out goodwill GLOBALLY. So anything Canada is doing in terms of not buying US products, is happening on a global scale and also on US Tourism which in itself is a staggering $2.36T. Some of that is diverted to Canada. But the US has fucked itself by bullying its friends, and its paying the price. All those nations that now are mad at the USA are often happy to do business with Canadians as we have a great global reputation in trade. We are also all victims of the Trump regime with all those other abused nations.

Sending out ICE on Hyundai was a message that was heard globally.
Just as Qatar giving trump a plane only to have him ok Israel bombing them.

Lol. The USA is now fudging it's data as well as the CPP. So trying to have a data driven argument is more difficult than you think.

More importantly though considering recent events, I'd say the unraveling of the USA is continuing. And data can't account for that, only report the carnage after.
that’s a lie, any reasonable person would know that

Dude, he is firing people for not giving him the numbers he wants. And even he has now stated it will take two years to start to see jobs recover.

Trump says it could take 2 years before tariffs result in American manufacturing boom - ABC News https://share.google/uZMUNT5NCTqJh0mmb

So either it was a shitty jobs report, or what's with the above statement?

Wanna discuss tourism numbers, layoffs?

Carney should release the budget right now, have it voted down, call an election and win a clear majority.

bring it on
the electorate has figured out they were conned by 'elbows up'
no trade deal has been achieved, unemployment is rising and inflation is still hammering the electorate
not a good economic environment for the incumbent party

Mostly in Ontario and Alberta, the conservative run provinces.

Being run by conservative governments (although I'd use that term loosely in Ontario) is irrelevant. Its simply because the federal Liberals can't get their act together. And export driven provinces like Ontario and Alberta suffer disproportionately.

Do you know how it works that they get the numbers? Honestly curious.

Yes, they use employee surveys (which has been getting weaker), which is crazy given the USG knows who paid social security taxes every two weeks. It’s a government operation.

apparently the unraveling will have to wait.

August retail sales up .6% from July (vs est.2% est) 5% annual growth from 24.

GDP forecast for Q3 (on top of 3.3% growth in Q2)

Exactly. And the numbers change as more reports come in late. My SO works in this field for a multi national. The jobs numbers are getting bad.

Stagflation is already here.

The world economy has slowed down. During COVID, trade and business across the globe nearly stopped, and the cost to every country was enormous. Now, instead of moving forward, the world is facing another setback. The curse called Trump. The pandemic didn’t push the world into a full recession, but Trump’s actions might.
