This has been a HUGE impediment for me. I have tried to book many providers through e-mail and either got ghosted or received rude responses such as "Get a phone". Realistically I think my success rate is 1 out of 20. There are many providers missing out on potential business.
I would love to know why this is an issue. I don't have a cell phone, so I can't text. I prefer not to make phone calls on my families land line for reasons that should be obvious. I do use Bluesky but there are no Kingston based providers on there. Ottawa is hip to it though.

What is the issue with responding to an e-mail, or not providing an e-mail at all. Don't they realize many people don't have cell phones?
I'd love to know the answer to this.

This is 2025. I don't think they're missing out on that many people.

For me, online tools (email, Twitter, etc) are best because they're anonymous. Direct texting or calling is out of the question, but if necessary a text app would be okay.

Great thread Nadia.
I find email is best. It’s secure, messages are always delivered.
Also from a provider’s POV - 9/10 times an inquiry I receive via email follows through with a booking. The client has actually made the effort to do their due diligence, read through my website and engage respectfully.
It’s my opinion, but email forces clients to be thoughtful and intentional. They aren’t chasing the instant gratification/dopamine fix that a quick text can bring.

If I do receive a text inquiry, usually it’s “Hey …” Or “Are you available?” no information to go off of, very insincere and time wasting types of communicators. And a lot of attention seekers looking for an instant response.
Text apps can also be notoriously unreliable. I recently just lost the number I had since 2018 😑
I’ll use WhatsApp, but typically only to communicate with regular clients, but now I may need a new number to keep that WhatsApp account active.

So, in short, I believe email is best! Filters out better clients, provides more security/reliability.
Also cuts down on the admin time so you don’t have a 30+ minute back and forth trying to get all the details of a booking sorted out over text.

My only complaint about emails (but this could happen through text too) are the clients who wait too long to respond. Yes it’s a bit slower paced communication but timing is everything. You wait just a few hours or a day and my availability has probably changed.
Just a friendly reminder to clients: if you inquire about a date, then be prepared to book and lock that date in.

I voted Twitter/X, however I would also use an encrypted email. I'd like to use that more, as I don't believe X is all that secure. Privacy is important to me. I used to use a textapp but lost the number last year and can't get a new one with that app.

@Nesbot Any leads on a good text app?

I just use text now. You can switch the number whenever you want for free or lock it in for a pretty cheap price.

I just text mostly but I like a certain provider that insists on calling to finalizing the booking and that alone says lots to me, you can get a feel on the provider and makes it more personal. I have tried E-Mail in the past but did not work so good.

I personally will book via email only, but require a deposit or some form of verification like a longterm TERB handle.
It is too easy to be a fake or a timewaster with an anonymous email.

I prefer texting because it is generally faster and I can verify if the number is connected to a real carrier or not.
Clients who use their real number almost never eff around and almost always show up or give cancelation notice with a fee.

This has worked for me and is just my preference.

I use those 3 ways :
1- Texting, I use a text-app.
2- However, some providers don't want to deal with a text-app so, for those providers I will use emails, if the option is available.
3- I also like X, but either some providers don't have a Twitter account or have their DM not avalable.

Email is definitely the most discreet and secure. I won’t do text because I don’t need texts popping up on the dash in my car when I’m driving with clients or family members. I’ve tried it before and I’ve had one girl randomly send promotional texts once in a while, not cool. With email you could have a separate, private account for these purposes.

Text app for initial conversation, I find it the most discreet way. If I get to know a provider a little I will share my actual number.. but rare. Being safe is a two way street.

You're on point!
Everytime I've had to contact a lady though email, I always ended up setting an appointment. There's something about emails that pushes you to formalize things I guess? 😅
I have to admit that, perhaps as clients , we lean towards texting via text app because, let's face it, anonymity reduces accountability.

Email or txt. Like I don't partake often but if there is an email option I definitely use that over sending a txt. I also feel it breaks the ice easier and you are able tl articulate better in an email response.

For me X is a horrible way to find new girls. Unless you already know about them it is up to chance if you see their profile or not. Then a lot of girls have it so you can't message them unless you pay for premium X.
