The year Wayne Gretzky set the record for most points in a single season, he surprisingly did not lead the league in plus/minus rating. Without looking it up, who did?

Which NHL player had the most points in a single season while also having a negative +/- rating?

See post #6112 for the answer.

It's gotta be Phil Esposito,, he was stationed in the goal mouth anticipating rebounds , was a slow skater, so he was caught up ice, while opponents scored.

Incorrect. Poor Phil. He had great +/- numbers with the Bruins until his last season with them. Then, with the Rangers, he never had a plus season.

Sorry guys, I messed up. Every time I checked a different source I found a new answer. Please disregard my original reply to your answers.
The answer as best as I can figure out is Mario Lemieux in the 1985-86 season when he scored 141 points while being a -8.
This is what can happen when you do your own research.

On January 20, 1968 the UCLA Bruins played the Houston Cougars in an NCAA men's basketball game. What was historically significant about the game?

See post #6170 for the answer.

Eugenio Suarez had 36 home runs for the Arizona Diamondbacks when he was traded to the Seattle Mariners on July 31st. If he hits four or more homers during the rest of this season, he will become the second player to be traded during a 40 homer season.

Who is the only player to have accomplished this feat?
Adam Dunn

It was most likely a teammate of his and a dman. So I'll go with Paul Coffey.

I know of three Major League pitchers who pitched 100 or more innings in each of five consecutive seasons without starting any games during the streak.

Name as many as you can, which may be more than three.

K Douglas correctly identified Rollie Fingers, Duane Ward and Mike Marshall.

I don't know of any others.

Jesse Orosco
Nope.

Orosco pitched 100 or more innings in only two of his 24 Major League seasons, and he starting two games in one of them.

Orosco is probably the only pitcher to have performed this feat: he appeared in more games than the number of innings he pitched in each of his last thirteen Major League seasons.

In his brief career as a New York Yankee, (July 22 - August 31, 2003, in the midst of his final season), he appeared in 15 games, while recording only 13 outs.

There's no limit to the number of times you can attempt to answer on of MY questions in the New Sports Trivia thread.

Yes, I missed these two guys.

There is another.jpg

The question post has been corrected. I think there's only one other.

Excluding anyone who played entirely before the Expansion Era, (ie: Pre-1961), I can think of only one Major League pitcher who tossed 200 or more innings in each of his last six seasons.

Mark Buehrle came 1 1/3 innings short of performing this feat in each of his last 14 seasons.

Clues about the correct answer:

He played for eight different teams during his 19 season career.

Twice in his career he was traded, (alone, or as the primary player in a multi-player package), for a future member of the Baseball Hall of Fame.

The sculptor of this statue has the same name, but with first and last names transposed.

What's his name?

Answered correctly by K Douglas.
