For years it was torture to watch the Jays trying to bunt. Well, the last two years their bunting skills have improved 180 degrees. I get almost the same thrill watching them bunt as I do watching them slug one out of the park. Well done.

How TF can Springer not make the all-star team??!!! 🫤
I agree. Here is the roster. I'm puzzled at some of the selections. Most notably Bregman who hasn't played since May 23. And somehow two Tigers players - Gleyber Torres and Javier Baez were voted to start

Vlad did all he could to end the winning streak
He is overrated , he is not a super star power hitter, Jays should not have signed him long term, the team has shown that they can win without him when his bat is cold. He should be traded fat deadline or a good starter and reliever, or highly touted prospects, but what team would take his contract? Could Jays and other team split the payments? I admit I'm not keen on the trade and financial side of baseball.

Probably the end for DJLM

Indeed. His numbers have deteriorated for the past three seasons. The power evaporated with just 8 doubles and 4 home runs in his last 370 plate appearances. Even his high level defending can't make up for that.

His OBP in 2024 was .396 and so far this season it is .382. Those are elite numbers. Is he a superstar, no. He likely will not replicate those amazing 2021 numbers .311/.401/48/111/123 but we didn't pay him based on those #'s. I wouldn't trade him because you wouldn't get the value back. Plus he's durable having only missed 12 games in the previous 4 seasons. If he had the competitive drive and heart of his dad he would be a mega star.

That's the problem with him , he's too busy mugging for the camera in the dugout, he should have game face (like Josh Naylor"s) all the time looking at the IPad between ABs.

That is how I feel about Santander. Trade him and eat part of his contract. We have been winning ever since he went on the DL
It depends on the contract if he can be traded

He is very tradable as he is still good for 30 homers a year so get a pitcher for today and a prospect

Vlad will not be traded but I see your point as we could get a good haul for him with his contract for life but we have to eat 100 million or so but the money is off our books and Rogers have the money to blow

That is one way to build a winner is sign a star to megadeal while you plan to trade him

OBP includes walks and a good hitter gets more walks , 450 OBP can lead the league

Walks have more value if you got speed which Vlad does not

The time to trade Vlad was when he first came up. MLB was exagerating him for marketing reasons but now we know he is not the next Babe Ruth, Judge is.

Vlad still sells tickets and that is also very important

If the Blue Jays signed Shohei Ohtani or Juan Soto, I truly believe they would've let Vlad walk. All I have to say is remember how frustrating he was at the beginning of last year… And then remember how he was much watch TV after the All-Star break.

I am probably alone in saying that he's going to come around very soon. And then just like last year all the frustration of watching him will be a memory. I still don't think he's matured enough to really know or understand where his own wheelhouse is. I also don't think he's mature enough to have a solid plan at the plate and to really be looking for something in his zone. He might be sitting dead red once in a while, but I don't think he has much more of a plan beyond that.

His talent is undeniable and suburb… His baseball instincts are definitely not the sharpest, but when it's all set and done, I truly believe this will be one of the greatest signings of all time.

Now the BoSox have won 9 in a row, and are just 4 games off the AL East lead

Another one run win... but that run differential isn't getting much better... ha ha
Couldve used a larger run differential last night 🙃
