1. Putin's been in power far too long. When you wield that much power and influence you make reckless decisions.
2. Russia is a declining Empire. Aging and unhealthy population. They've had one of the highest rates of abortion in the world for decades. That has long term consequences.
3. The way the Soviet Union was broken up was done hastily without a vision of what life would look like for ethnic Russians in each of the breakaway republics.
4. There has been a lot of western influence and meddling in Ukraine. Its as corrupt a country as you will find on the planet. That meddling, including talks of joining NATO, directly threatened Russian sovereignty.

The West is at least as much to blame for this conflict as Russia is.

NATO has no interest in threatening Russian sovereignty. NATO woud only attack Russia if Russia attacked a NATO member.
NATO countries bordering Russia are only looking out for their own sovereignty. A deterant to prevent Russia from invading.

their alliance. Not having to attack Russia by paying Ukraine to do the

Sorry if I hit a nerve, but that was a semi serious comment. The video you posted suggested that Putin attacked Ukraine because he is worried about being a small man, which sounded like small dick syndrome. Its annoying to have people not take issues seriously, I get it. But here there is only nottyboi debating about how serious the war on Ukraine is.

The two wars are tied together now by trump and america.
Ukraine is losing US weapon support because it all went to Israel. Putin's grip on trump seems to be weakening while Netanyahu is coming to town soon.

Putin has been going at it hard lately after Zelensky's successful drone operation. Its looking like trump is giving him the green light too.
