We live in a parliamentary democracy. I'm voting for a suite of proposed legislation, not for "the guy in charge". Up to some limit that I haven't really thought about, I'd vote for a shitty guy who's platform is aligned with what I think is best for the country over a paragon of virtue that I'm not aligned with.

Pipelines were approved and built under Trudeau, so yes I do believe he will approve them if they make sense. The situation has changed dramatically. Also AB will have to agree to link our grid from east to west.
