What was the first tv theme to hit #1 on the Billboard top 100 chart?
This question was answered correctly by Valcazar.
Below I have listed the first 3 tv show themes that hit #1 on the Billboard hot 100, in chronological order.

1) Soul Train.
This was an instrumental song specifically written for the show, but was released as a single under a different name. The show's creator/host Don Cornelius insisted the name of the show not be associated with the single. Therefore, the theme was released by the name TSOP, which stood for The Sound of Philadelphia. The group was MFSB, which stood for Mother, Father,Sister, Brother.

2) S.W.A.T.

3) Welcome Back Kotter
Although this was the third tv theme to hit #1 it was the first tv theme to hit #1 that had lyrics. Well known singer/songwriter John Sebastian wrote and performed the song.

In the first season of Twin Peaks, Audrey Horne, (Sherilynn Fenn), auditioned for a job at the One-Eyed Jacks brothel by tying a cherry stem in her mouth:

In a previous post I mentioned that John Sebastian wrote and performed the theme for Welcome Back Kotter. He was the lead singer/guitar player/songwriter for the popular group the Lovin' Spoonful. His Godmother was a famous tv personality. Who was she?

I tried to research the first use of the N-word on network tv. There's not much out there about it, however as expected it's believed to be All in the Family. Specifically, the famous episode with Sammy Davis Jr. in which the Candyman himself utters the word. So, my question is which show is considered to be the second to have used the N-word on network tv. I'm not including news programs or documentaries. I have an answer, but I'm open to revising it if someone has better information.
