Zelensky will disagree with you if he ends up signing the deal in Trump's terms.
I won't rule out the remote possiblity that Zelensky in the end refuses
to sign with Trump but sign one with Europe which gives him the security
guarantee he wants.
I can't see how only one of the two agreement will be operational
so long as it is signed and accepted.

If he doesn't get security guarantees he and by extension the US won't get anything anyway.
