I'm not 100% sure but I believe the New York stock exchange relies on Canadian power, and if that goes down it's going to crash the entire stock market

Enough time for the markets to close and Trump to announce he’s invading Canada as shutting off essential energy is a national security threat. Trust me this ain’t going to happen.
Interruptions and accidentally brown outs happen.....

Probably not.

I'm also wondering if maybe we should use our Canadian uranium to start making a few hundred nuclear weapons. We may have to start protecting ourselves from not only Russians, but also Americans 😂

Yes but if announce it and then followed through it wouldn’t be deemed an accident, it would be deemed an attack.
I highly doubt troops would be used. It would be the end of the USA. Trade with Nations would cease. A world boycott would happen.

And btw it would, to actually bring it off, require a war declaration in Congress and use of the draft. You think that will happen?

It's not like Afghanistan or Iraq where the point was to destroy the infrastructure. Then rebuild it. In this case they HAVE TO KEEP IT INTACT. Or the whole point of the operation is a failure. People forget we SHARE the largest Undefended border. If 1% of Canada decides to go full guerrilla that's 400,000 potential terrorists who can strike back unless they cover the entire 49th parallel and all the water in between. The means to do that doesn't exist. The massive buildup to do it, train troops, and then hold it, as well as the cost?

Think about it.

I'm not in disagreement with this. We have the infrastructure and know how to do it. And you only need a few.

Has anyone looked at a map?
Ok, so we "accidentally" mis-manage ourselves and brown out the the US northeast.
What happens next ? The US clutches their pearls in shock and dismay, issues a "how dare you" press statement, and then nobly and honorably as an act of self denial refuses to accept any Canadian oil or gas and shuts down the pipeline AT THE BORDER.
That's the same pipeline that travels through the US, crosses Missouri, Wisconsin and comes back into Canada (finally) in Sarnia before it goes anywhere else.

This brings back the old Alberta adage "let the eastern bastards freeze in the dark", and so we shall.

Is the premier on this board? Maybe he should look at the map.

They can't refuse it. The entire Midwest relies on it. It's their sole supply chain. Anything else and gas doubles in price. You think USA citizens will accept that? To invade Canada?

Lol. 5 buck a gallon turns elections.
