I prefer LSD by a mile.
Really like your “acoustic / electric metaphor! As I age , I am increasingly appreciative of my experiences with both hallucinogenics in the early 70’s ( SW Ontario). The mushrooms made me laugh, but the acid (usually microdot or sunshine blotter) developed an awareness and introspection which has benefitted me every since. Would love to do it all again, but at age 65 I fear I am too old to take this trip again.I prefer LSD by a mile.

Forty-five years ago, a guy I knew at school acquired some genuine 'windowpane' acid, and he was giving it away, but he only let people have one hit. The last time I had some was in the summer of 1984. I was watching the Olympics, and the race walking event started just when it 'kicked in'. That was surreal. Those guys still look to me like they need to take a dump, and they're half a mile from home.Really like your “acoustic / electric metaphor! Loved your comments. For me, it was always these crazy (but fun) visual hallucinations, which alerted me to an “alternate universe” which is usually “unseen”. Hope that makes some sense. The most Important Thing to remember during the adventure? The visuals are not real. Never loose sight and forget you are experiencing an acid trip. Simply enjoy your mind, wherever it will go…..Forty-five years ago, a guy I knew at school acquired some genuine 'windowpane' acid, and he was giving it away, but he only let people have one hit. You're never too old! I'm in my 50s and still take a dose of 100-200 micrograms of acid about three or four times a year. An LSD trip, for me, is like hitting the reset button on life. The week after a trip is always fantastic for me.Really like your “acoustic / electric metaphor! Never tried it , afraid of bad tripI prefer LSD by a mile.

Honestly, I've taken probably 100 trips in my life and never had anything close to a bad trip.Never tried it , afraid of bad trip
A friend did it in a ceremonial group, he saw a UFO looked up at it while intentionally not telling anyone, Eventually they saw him looking up so they did and they all described what he was seeing even though he told no one
Crazy

Three things I have found lead to bad acid trips:
1. Being inexperienced and going to a public place on acid (extremely overwhelming)
2. Taking stupidly huge doses
3. Smoking weed while tripping (easily the Number 1 reason -- weed and acid are oil and water for most people)
Did LSD once up north at a cottage. I went into the lake about shoulder depth, just stood there staring at waves.Never tried it , afraid of bad trip
