Before anything can be agreed the Rada will have to vote to provide Zelensky a mandate. And any deal will have to be ratified by the Rada. Zelenskys term has expired according to the constitution

Putin will refuse to allow Ukraine to join NATO as a condition for ending the war. It would not be surprising if he also insisted that Ukraine remain outside the European Union. He views Ukraine as a crucial buffer against NATO, and if Ukraine were to join the alliance, any future attack by Russia would trigger a NATO response. Additionally, EU membership would significantly strengthen Ukraine’s economy, further distancing it from Russian influence. Ukraine also controls key seaports, making its alignment with the West a strategic loss for Putin.

The war is a grinding stalemate. The Ukraine is a mess and has suffered incredible losses of human life.
