Ready?

In absolute terms less illegals means less crime.

What part of that don't you get.

If Toronto had 100 murders, but only 10 by illegals, so what, it would be 10 less murders in the city. That's the point.

And sanctuary cities let criminals go who WERE CAUGHT doing lesser crimes, that doesn't mean they didn't commit harsher crimes they weren't caught for. And either way, they committed A CRIME. That makes them detrimental, not a net asset.
Before people repeat silly rhetoric, they could learn a lot by trying to counter the argument they are trying to make.

You are absolutely right Butler. People don't see some analysis of relative crimes by illegals. They only see the crimes committed by the illegals. They only see a young woman murdered at the University of Georgia.

The "Sanctuary" city status has been bastardized over the decades. In the 1970s and 80s, it meant that migrants could call the police for help and make use of city services without having to fear being deported. Now it has become some sort of unofficial permanency regardless if you committed a crime.

Guess those crazy lefties don't like Medicaid being defunded, huh? Who'da thunk?!
We don't have national healthcare. It's that simple. People who can work or who are working don't belong on our Medicaid program. Medicaid covers a lot of qualified people. Qualified is the key word. The COVID emergency is long over.

Canadians wouldn't agree with you.

But I understand that something closer to complete defunding is in the works - as part of "making America great again".

Like you guys say: "It's a new dawn for America". 🥴

That's not how I read Shaquille's post.

Perhaps you could share your enhanced insight?

People know when things are shittier.
The last four years saw Progressives gaslighting us pretty hard. We don't see what we think we see. It backfired in a major way.

His first promise was to be a dictator on day 1.
not possible , US presidential power is checked by elected congress
The Prime Minister of Canada has far more relative power
It was either Obama, Bush or Trump who said exactly that to Stephen Harper.

Trudeau , despite saying he has quit ( "You know I am not a quitter, as I quit" -what an imbecilic) is going to stack the Canadian senate with 10 unelected liberal stooges to prevent / thwart Pierre P from cleaning up Justin's messes

and before you bring up the stacking of the US supreme court there is a lengthy review process by elected members and its not done with the stroke of an idiots pen

Canadian do not want his policies anymore. Trudeau quit and shut down parliament. There is no way he should be able to continually screw Canadians over like this

It really is. I don't know why Democrats support unpopular and even destructive policies.

But I don't know if there will be any push back this run. Dems are so fragmented and directionless right now.

The battle between far-left vs centre-left has to happen first.

When Obama was in office, the big issue was health care. Now it's DEI. Things got to get straightened out on the left.
The problem is our primary system as it stands today favors left wing and right wing candidates. There was a time not too long ago where party regulars had more say to nominate a more center candidate who could broadly appeal in a national election.

Having said that, California, New York, Illinois and New Jersey Democrats can push for a progressive nominee that will struggle in the Great Lakes region and other battleground states.

Would that apply to the tariff war with allies Mexico and Canada? Or the threat to seize Greenland from tiny ally Denmark? Or the illegal firing of those department heads without proper congressional notification?

Or how about all those DoJ attorneys who are about to sue the living shit out of the administration for wrongful dismissal?

Or the upcoming tariff war with China?

Let's see.... What other radiant sunbeams of the "new dawn" have happened in the last week or so?

These are not illegals.
These are legal asylum seekers from Venezuela and Haiti during the recent crisis.
You were talking about illegal immigrants committing crimes and overwhelming ERs.
Stop moving goalposts.
This is another feature of MAGA.
They will not differentiate legal and illegal immigrants to push their narrative.
Unfortunately for you the pendulum has swing. The majority of Americans now support the mass deportations. For all the reasons I outlined. They are living in it. It's one of the major reasons he was elected.

Quibbling over things things is fine and fun on a board. But in reality I haven't moved a goalpost. I pointed out how emergency rooms and being overwhelmed. To say no illegals are responsible is an out and out lie.

Whatever percentage they represent is one that means citizens are pushed from getting treatment. Again, absolute terms matter too.

Most business people whether they voted for Trump or not understand everything is a negotiation.
Most people who voted for Trump did not vote for same old, same old.
I would wait to see how these issues evolve.
I can't promise you it will be good for Canada simply because that's not the consideration.

How excited will they be when groceries and power gets more expensive with tariffs?

Yes, we are aware that the MAGA frenzy has taken hold of America.
Does not mean the MAGA lies should not be pointed out.
You did move goalposts.
You said illegals are overwhelming ERs and committing crimes and on both those accounts you were wrong.
As I said before spending billions on minor problems, to distract from larger problems is irresponsible.
Essentially amounts to a solution in search of a problem.

The swing states need a moderate candidate and they couldn't come up with one in time because of Biden's decline.
In 2028 Shapiro or Newsom or someone else will get it done.
I think Newsom's Presidential aspirations went up in flames.

Given the fact that most educated, urban voters vote Dem, I suspect most Trump voters knew fuck all about what they were really voting for and understood even less.

If the USA were the UK, I would suggest that Donald was 2/3 of the way to being Liz Trussed for his horseshit already.

But look, Earp. Another "communist, woketard, libtard judge" just blocked Donny's attempt to defund all of the federal social welfare programs.

BREAKING: Another major loss for Trump.

A federal judge has blocked Trump’s freeze on federal aid programs, ruling that the courts need more time to consider the potentially far-reaching consequences of his order.
