Had a weird and slightly worrying experience today. Went to visit a very well reviewed SP. Got directions, arrived a bit early. It was in a neighbourhood with duplexes and such but I got good directions and knew exactly which door to knock on. I pulled around the corner to park my car out of the way. I texted the SP, as I always do, and asked permission to come to the door. I think it is the gentlemanly thing to do. While I waited for and answer to my text, a school bus pulled up a bit ahead of where I was parked. A gentleman came up to my car and asked what I was doing. I told him I was visiting a friend. Should have told him to mind his own business but in today’s world I decided not to. Anyway, he asked where? I thought quickly and said I don’t know, that’s why I’m texting my friend to make sure I get the correct address being the neighbourhood was a bit confusing. He was polite and said he understood but as he walked away, he got on his phone. Probably nothing to worry about but my spidey senses kicked into high gear. Not only concern for myself but what if I had walked up to the door while he’s calling god knows who. If it’s the police, I may be putting others in a bad situation. Namely, the SP. This all happened in a matter of four to five minutes and I just had a bad feeling. I still hadn’t gotten an answer about coming to the door so I texted again and apologized and said I was a bit Spooked and that I was leaving. As I left, I got a text back and I had the opportunity to explain what happened. She was an absolute gem and totally understood. She even apologized for my experience! It had nothing to do with her, totally not her fault. Was I wrong? I don’t think so and neither did she. I hope to see her in the future. Just had to share.
