I don't doubt it. All presidents have a honeymoon period. So let's see how he goes.
The honeymoon started Nov 6, 2024...my honeymoon lasted 3 minutes...IMO Trump is off to a good start...

But what are the righties celebrating for this nutcase who wants to screw up Canada based on his usual dumb impulses.
The Tariffs will only add to inflation as the costs will rise in both Canada and The USA.
Convicted Felon Trump has falsely stated that The USA "subsidies" Canada, hence there is a "deficit".
The guy is beyond redemption.
This poll that refers to is cozying up to Billionaires and many of his Executive Orders does not look promising for Convicted Felon Trump:

Poll: Trump’s reliance on billionaires is extremely unpopular
Asked about the president relying on billionaires “for advice about government policy,” Americans' attitudes appear to be one-sided.

American presidents traditionally avoid making unpopular moves early on in their terms for the most obvious of reasons: Leaders believe that the more public support they enjoy, the greater their odds of political and substantive success. Indeed, presidents from both parties have gone out of their way to avoid unpopular efforts, especially in the aftermath of inaugurations, for precisely this reason, hoping to extend so-called “honeymoon” phases.

Donald Trump, true to form, is turning this model on its head.

Pardons for violent Jan. 6 felons? Unpopular. Eliminating birthright citizenship in defiance of constitutional law and Supreme Court precedent? Unpopular. Expanding the United States’ territorial boundaries by acquiring Greenland? Unpopular. Elements of the White House anti-immigrant agenda? Unpopular.

But a new national poll from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research touched on an issue that generally isn’t included in surveys. From the AP’s report on the poll, which was conducted with 1,147 adults between Jan. 9 and Jan. 13:

U.S. adults broadly think it’s a bad thing if the president relies on billionaires for advice about government policy, according to the poll. About 6 in 10 U.S. adults say this would be a “very” or “somewhat” bad thing, while only about 1 in 10 call it a very or somewhat good thing, and about 3 in 10 are neutral.

Biden was very popular until the Afghan withdrawal fiasco, which was August. So let's see. Who knows where he might go, but all president's start this way. It's in the maintenance which is the hard part.

Yes it went up a few percentage points from November 6th onwards.
It appears to be falling again.
I think it is normal for a new President to have higher favourability ratings.
However it seems like it is falling already.
I will post a graph and a table that shows this.
Graph showing ratings increasing since November:

Table showing favourability ratings going down and unfavourable ratings going up (3 days):

It seems like people in the USA deserve America to be Great Again.
They do deserve that. The problem, however, is not illegal immigrants, but a debt of $37T , caused by imperial overreach.

No signs Trump will address the real problems.

Sure. He's picked a fight with Colombia and misreported it as a win.

Let's see how Americans like a prolonged tariff war with Canada and Mexico.

A leader that gets rid of illegal immigrants and has companies focused on innovating instead of DEI quotas? 🤔
No more immigrants were sent back than last year at the same date. Just more hype.

DEI only pissed off the fragile flaky man. It was a non-issue until convicted felon Trump, who is the flakiest of the flaky showed up.

Colombia backed down
that is a win for Trump,.... for now
Colombia should be careful. Trump is no fan of their unofficial export product.

Let's see how Americans like a prolonged tariff war with Canada and Mexico.
you do not know what your talking about

Our economy can not withstand a prolonged trade war with the US.
that will cause huge and permanent damage
if counter tariffs are to be applied we have to be very careful and selective about applying tariffs

The tariffs applied by Trump are an inflationary tax he is applying to his economy ./ citizens
The pain we will feel is a loss of orders, businesses closing and job losses

tariffs applied by Canada are an inflationary tax Canada is applying to our economy ./ citizens.
The pain we will feel from our tariff moves is inflation
The Canadian consumer has just been pummelled by Trudeaus money printing inflation.
The Canadian consumer is far more levered up with debt than the American consumers

Applying a 25% across the board tariff on all US imports will drive personal bankruptcies sky high. Families will be decimated,
.
this is the application of leverage ahead of USCMA negotiations in 2026 so we might get beat up for a year
if we do not fix the boarder situation it will be prolonged.
Trump will not back down on boarder security . He will tariff Canada and Mexico for four years if need be to get that win

Same for the NATO spending, although the boarder is number one and measurable immediately
The reality is Canada should fix the boarder and fix our military for our own interests, so fix them and let him claim the win.
