Hold your horses. He did not say he wanted Iran to have nuclear weapons. I think he meant that it is inevitable, and understandable. Iran is every week being threatened with annihilation. If it had or has nuclear weapons, maybe Israel and USA would be more careful with their threats. Have you noticed that North Korea is not being threatened.
And for funding of terrorist groups, USA is probably up there with Iran.

The whole idea there was that the sanctions that were lifted were making Iran rich enough to fund terrorist organizations throughout Middle East and continue to accumulate resources and power.
He had no doubt Iran would eventually just develop nuclear weapons anyway so why let them accumulate so much money as well. By squeezing them, he wanted to make Iran lose resources so that they really wouldn’t be able to do much of anything.

I think you know that your argumentation is weak. There was a non nuclear agreement with plenty of inspections by Americans. Iran was not enriching Uranium to high levels before Trump cancelled the agreement.
