Negative. As is the case in Canada, citizens and green card holders are simply not willing to do the work in the fields and in the slaughterhouses.

Canada has solved the problem through a program of importing temporary workers for the growing season from Mexico and Jamaica. The advantage to this program is that the temporary workers do not bring their families with them.

USA would need to implement a similar program on a much larger scale in order to produce food.
The simple solution to the problem would be to issue resident visas to the existing farm workers.
Negative. As is the case in Canada, Employers aren't willing to pay people a wage commensurate with the physical/psychological toll required to work in the fields and slaughterhouses.

Canada has solved the problem through a program of importing temporary workers for the growing season from Mexico and Jamaica. The advantage to this program is that the temporary workers can be kept in slave-like conditions and underpaid, as the cost of living is lower in their home countries.

There. Fixed it for you.

There are plenty of immigrants to do the jobs. Millions poured in and many are just walking around towns and cities with nothing to do - I’ve seen it.

Existing Latinos hate that Biden government did this to them as they have to compete with more people to get a job to support their families. Simple supply and demand. One of the strangest sights I saw during election was Latinos blasting Spanish music on their trucks while having a Maga flag on it.

It is good Trump is trying to cut as much as he can but there is no way (at current count of illigals) to cut so much that we won’t have workers to do farm, cleaning, landscaping jobs.

The whole thing is a political charade. If USA wanted to get rid of undocumented aliens, she could simply do what every other country including Canada does: enforce IRS rules, i.e. make it impossible to pay undocumented aliens.

If I pay salary to someone, who is not a legal resident in Canada, my company would be shut down in a fortnight.

The reason it is not done in USA is that in a naked capitalistic system it is essential to have a proletariat, that is willing to work for any pay under any conditions. Read Marx.

That is what I posted, maybe too politely.

While debate rages about what Trump will actually do long term here, pretty much everyone agreed a showy, camera-ready blue-city raid was going to be early.
This way he has some red meat for his base that he can point to no matter what else happens later.
Yeah. I get the feeling that he's going to target blue cities for a while, and probably turn a blind eye to red states that rely on the cheap labour to do construction or pick crops. Call me when they start hitting Texas hotels or farms. I'll be shocked when/if that happens...

They do this regularly.
This just a photo op.
They just want to make a show of how Trump is taking it to the democrats run blue cities...
Yes, but richaceg has a point here.
People want to see it done.
It's part of the marketing of the thing.

The question is one of proportion.

Are we going to see one or two showy raids and then he's going to back off the "deport 11 million people" plan?
Or are we going to see one or two showy raids and then the plan proceeds but not done with tv cameras all the time?

Somewhere in the middle?

And then, finally, do people care?
I suspect lots of MAGA people don't actually care whether Trump keeps his promise to deport everyone.
They do want to see blue state immigrants terrified, though.
As long as they get some showy examples of scaring the right people, they will be happy regardless of the actual results in the end.
It's like how lots of them were happy Trump announced factories opening up. That he didn't actually open those factories or bring those jobs back didn't matter.

I don't know if it will be so much avoiding red states as his basic "you can always bribe your way out of anything inconvenient".

The problem is that Miller and some of his other staff are actual ideologues about this.
They want to really go for it, regardless of the consequences. So there may be some tension.

Also, don't forget that a few big, showy raids keeps the base in line and also means other people are scared.

Being able to call in a raid whenever you want is great for making sure labor doesn't talk back.

(Especially if the raids keep grabbing citizens and legal residents as well, which seems to be part of the plan.)

Well I know the MAGA people want to see these immigrants being led off in cuffs.
My point was there are tons of these videos on YouTube already that they can watch. Lol.
And you are right. Many don't care it succeeds.
Who is counting?
Not like MAGA read any reports etc.,
As either PeterParker or Patriot123 mentioned "humiliate them and deport them".
They need a spectacle to cheer for.

Not all immmigrants will be led off in cuffs, illegals or what you call undocumented are the target here. Blue Cities are prime locations to find a lot because why not...they're not called sanctuary cities for nothing...its a numbers game...If the admin can show Americans they deported / caught a lot of undocumented...that's all that matters to them...will Trump deport all of 'em? heck no...his aim is to deport as much as he can...and they're off to a good start.

Let us say that there are 10 to 20 millions undocumented aliens in USA, maybe the number is 12 millions.

1. Where to would USA fly them?

2. 40,000 flights

Clearly it is a charade, or a symbolic gesture for the easily fooled crowd.
