Trump may grant pardons to himself and his cronies, but it’s unlikely he will extend blanket clemency to the MAGA insurrectionists involved in the violent January 6, 2021, Capitol riots. While some of the least violent participants could potentially receive pardons, those who attacked law enforcement or caused significant property damage are expected to face severe consequences. These individuals will likely serve long prison sentences and suffer the lasting impacts of their criminal convictions, which could ruin their lives and future prospects.
My guess is that he will pardon some of the ones that participated without doing violence, many pardoned will only get the benefit of the pardon after they have served their time and have been released but not suffer the set back of a criminal record.
