Education has deteriorated in the US. Just look at the TV programming ( the Masked Singer, Love Island, even the news coverage sucks) and the level of intellectual poverty on social media.

Americans still have the mentality of 1940-1970, believing America is the best and everyone if fighting for second place.
Trump is threatening to kill the department of education.

Wouldn’t the dept of education be responsible for the poor education lol. By the way the dept of education was a temporary institution created to tackle segregation (if I remember correctly). They are more focused on dumbing down materials and promoting lbgtq.

One of their functions is to ensure equal access to education for all.

However test scores to get into good schools are higher and more competitive than ever. What you see in the media doesn’t represent the top percentage of kids that are trying like hell just to get into a top 100 college at this point.
if I want a good education you can still get it contingent you’re born into a family that promotes this and supplements on top of what the kids are learning in school.
Why do you think materials should be dumbed down and lgbtq should be promoted in a public school system.It’s not a lie because you think it is.
These are kids. They are owed an opportunity for a life of success and the administrators in the dept of education prefer to push their sick non academic agendas. Many are trying to be doctors, lawyers, and get good stable jobs. Why deny this to promote an agenda for a small minority. While places like India and China don’t promote this and send kids who are so well equipped to succeed in the adult life because of their schooling.
The reason dept of education has to be eliminated because it’s completely made up of people who have an extreme liberal agenda and don’t make education their top priority.
If Frankie was a teacher and I told him to promote Israel over Palestine in his class, he would protest or reluctantly do it. To the point that he would just simply revert back to promoting Palestine over time. This is why you can’t reorganize the dept of eduction. The people who make it up can not be given a different directive than what they are currently implementing, because they simply won’t do it.

On Stem:
STEM are not the only subjects in education.
Not everyone can, want to or have the smarts to do STEM.
On Religion:
I agree with not promoting any religion.
On Black History:
Black History is a huge part of American History.
For 190 out of its 247 years of existence, the US was racist hell. Black people were the ones who suffered.
How can that be ignored? It can't.
On LGBTQ Issues:
I dont think LGBTQ is being promoted.
They are told they are accepted and offered a safe space, which ensures they are able to participate in school.
This is good.
On Competitiveness:
Yes school is very competitive these days.
I am not sure what you are trying to say because not everyone is going to qualify to go to a top 100 college.

Its sad when you think education is an 'extreme liberal agenda', the same way you think teaching human rights should be eliminated.
Was it ever supposed to be given a bias to lean into these agendas or was it created to prepare people to have skills to succeed when they became adults. There are many successful gay and black people who got to where they were by working hard and studying their core subjects. If they are a ceo or doctor, it’s not because a lgbtq curriculum or systematic racism was covered.
Just keep it out, it’s not relevant. School has nothing to do with human rights.
But teaching about LGBTQ issues or systemic racism doesn't preclude one from working hard.
It is good for straight people to know about LGBTQ issues and for caucasians to know about systemic racism, so they behave in more conscientious ways when they do encounter diverse people in their professional and personal life.
School should prepare students for both professional success and social integration.
The point he's making is there should be no agenda in the classroom, other than core-education itself (math english, science).
The problem with this statement is education in the US is mostly handled on a state level. The curriculum is not controlled federally.
Plus you need an overseeing body on all activity from a macro-level.
You think schools should never discuss systematic racism or the fact that some people are gay?
