Monday or Wednesday is ok with me. I guess Reuters missed the Wednesday part. Or Maybe he's going to call an election?

Jan 5 (Reuters) - Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is expected to announce as early as Monday that he will resign as Liberal Party Leader, The Globe and Mail reported on Sunday, citing three sources.
The sources told the Globe and Mail that they don't know definitely when Trudeau will announce his plans to leave but said they expect it will happen before a key national caucus meeting on Wednesday.
It remains unclear whether Trudeau will leave immediately or stay on as prime minister until a new leader is selected, the report said.

Trudeau took over as Liberal leader in 2013 when the party was in deep trouble and had been reduced to third place in the House of Commons for the first time.

Carny is the only guy who I would consider supporting.

The problem for him is that his timing is awful in every way. Even if Carny becomes leader of the liberals in the coming weeks (not months) and election is called, he's going to be destroyed (thanks mainly to Justin, but also the current liberal caucus). Carny probably doesn't have an honest shot for at least 8 years. And even then there are no guarantees.

On the other hand, what the hell. Why not. It's not like he needs the money.

I'm curious to see what the hell Carney will do. I guess he's going to play the bad guy now. But the issue before Justin came was nobody liked boring Liberal politics.

On top of that, Freeland quit her cabinet position because she didn't want to be demoted for Carney. There has to be some bad blood.
