Do you mind if I ask what type of stuff you want to rent out?
I've seen a tiny bit of rental ads on Facebook Marketplace, but these are quite few, and only for items that people would only use once a year.

The problem I have about renting out my possessions is that nobody will take care of it as well as you, the owner. So you have to protect yourself with deposits in the event that the item gets damaged.

Ya there rental places already for tools for example. There are places to rent your car out. Your home. seems there no general rental place to rent random stuff - the closest I can think of is the movie buz which does have a rental registry for movie stuff if you have period stuff ie 10 year old iphone, 20 year old game system etc. Props. But most of it never gets rented ever. And CGI is ending that anyway.

I was thinking of renting Blue Collar tools & equipment and electronics. From the foregoing discussion, it appears this is not a good idea. Electronics can get busted, and shops are already renting tools with their own supply.

Yeah I think there's lots of problems involved I do think there is a market. It took Ebay a good 5 years Make it semi legit. There is a multi million dollar Idea there... But negative cash flow for a long time.
