Honestly, how can you be down on Poilievre at this point? He's the only leader calling for controlled spending.

True, but I think controlling government is another way to describe what Poilievre will bring.
How can this be any worst than it is now?

People like you are still in the Trudeau fantasy world.
Jali, is basically a universal everything guy. By extension, he thinks a growing role for government can bring about prosperity and happiness for the most amount of people. His views are in line with a lot of other progressive members. It would appear, most of them are being quiet today.

This paltry $250 adds up to something like $4 BILLION dollars I read.

The $250 makes NO difference and saving HST on kids toys will make no difference to almost everyone.

However, if Trudeau had spent half of that -$2 Billion- he could have built a road and railway to the Ring of Fire mineral deposits and created jobs, economic activity and national wealth. Put a 15% tax on extracted mineral resources because these resources belong to Canadians.

Fucking ridiculous leadership.

The Governor of New York is promising $300 checks to the state citizens.
Harris was promising money to certain groups.
I didn't like it when Trump was making offerings to certain groups.

It's an unseemly side of Democracy.

Frankfooter, Shack and NotaDcotor got banned.
They were abusing each other in the Israel threads lol.
I am not sure if it is permanent or temporary.
I had noticed Frank's name dropped off TERB's Most Message list. Ironically, mandrill moved solidly into the number one spot. I say ironically because mandrill was an outspoken champion for Frank until the Palestinians invaded Israel. Some of us tried to remind people that Frank was a rabid progressive to the extreme. I say Neo-Marxist, but that term makes some progressives uncomfortable. His repetition made me look succinct. ;)

Hardly anyone here actually feels bad that Frank blew himself up over Palestine.

Prior to his catching rabies over Israel / Palestine, I liked him and sympathized, if not supported the Palestinian cause (just not the tactics). But WTF... he just became obnoxious and I lost sympathy for both him and his cause.

Bombaklatt? He's inconsequential and impotent.

PP will make his rich friends richer, exactly like Trump. and cut everything possible for common people. PP is a lifetime politician. He knows the game. Nothing good will come out of him.

Trump gave a trillion tax cut to the rich in 2017. By next year he will give a 2-3 trillion tax cut to the same rich. All while your street are stormed by homeless and with a smell of piss.

We've been through this. The homeless problem is a matter with how we give the mentally-ill and drug-addicted too many freedoms.

It makes for a great sound byte though.

Frank was a fuckin' stalker. I also got tired of his daily bombardment of so-called Twitter experts.

Some of us who knew him longer knew he campaigned for Hamas and Hezbollah here years ago. He was deeply sympathetic to Iran. He reluctantly denounced Iran's treatment of women because he knew that didn't sell with the membership.

I could see progressives taking a shine to a guy who wants to expand government and other causes even if he's quite a bit obsessive. I also have no issue with people not liking the United States itself. However, Western Democracy is a far bigger concept. Don't champion countries and organizations who would happily take our freedoms away. (That's not directed at you.)

That's not true. Again, you're grasping for sound bytes. They refuse treatment and don't want to leave the street for that very reason.

California who has been very lenient with people living on the street is throwing money at dealing with their big problem. It hasn't been successful as the voters have spoken loudly, but the practical will of the majority to do the things necessary runs into people and groups with different agendas.

Progressives want government to do things. Do more things. Do this and do that. The list grows longer and the government grows larger and larger.'

Poilievre's benefit to Canada won't be in government programs and regulations. Canada will benefit if he puts the government on a long, needed post-Trudeau diet.

Why not just giving free healthcare like all other developed countries on earth? it would be better for you all and would cost less then what gop will be giving to the rich.

You mean like how the big chain stores have been making record profits and have unlimited access to cheap temp workers under Trudeau's time in office?

After I stopped engaging with him and just scrolled past his useless posts it just felt better. He dragged anyone down into uselessness. I tried to warn Shack and NotaDocter he wasn't Wirth it but I guess retirement gave them too much time.

He will be back. Give him a month or so and he will reappear.
