It takes a lot to impress me, but, Peter, great initiative with this reverse auction idea and awesome organization / rules structure!
I am happy to report my results. I won't name the provider, I'll leave that up to her to disclose, if she wishes. I was offered 420 with 150 going to the charity she chose. She is a wonderful person and it has been a few years since we connected. I decided to round it up to $500 for her to do as she wishes with the additional $80. I was thrilled to receive a bid from her and support the charity that is meaningful to her cause.On behalf of the SWPDF I want to thank you for creating a unique and fun way to raise some funds in the holiday season. These are the type of initiatives we need to build a positive play community
If anyone would like to report pledged amounts, our CFO is tracking those and then I can report how much was raised for the Fund. I’m happy to gather that intel for CORAs too. Big hugs everyone and thanks again for your generosity

I don’t know if this criticism is coming from providers or other clients. But I think we should all be mindful that these were FANTASIES!
The only thing out of line was the one mention of unsafe services, which broke the rules of the auction.
If someone had a fantasy that didn’t align with your boundaries or comfort zone, then DONT BID on it. Pretty damn simple. It’s not meant for you so don’t worry about it. I don’t know why there’s kink shaming or people criticizing others going on here.
We’re all supposed to be here for fun and to support a good cause.
I also just want to commend all the guys here who put their fantasies out there. Bravo! And thank you for participating in this auction.
I hope no one else was made to feel badly about their fantasy!

It's nothing personal.
Sometimes I want a fancy steak on the BBQ with homemade french fries and a homemade gravy. Other times I want Tostitos with cheese in the microwave. Sometimes I just want a jar of peanut butter and a spoon.
It may be that the ladies who were interested in taking part in this wanted to try something that they didn't ordinarily do, or was outside what they normally offer.

There were a few I would have loved to bid on, but either due to the location, or the specific requests, i just wouldn’t have been able to accommodate them realistically. I also didn’t want to waste anyone’s time by making a bid that proposed an alternative option that might’ve taken away from the fantasy.
There are tons of hotels in the area - West Hunt Club, Airport, Barrhaven, Kanata, etc. So I really don't buy this explanation.
Without getting too far into the weeds, but I chose these locations due to relatively affordable Uber fares for me. It's $30 to get downtown...
Just because there are hotels there you are comfortable going to does not mean there are hotels there that providers are comfortable going to.
BS. Personal experience.
Both Rebecca and Jesse_b host in nice hotels in this area. Sammy often hosts near the airport. Maddy hosts on Greenbank. Kimmy hosts in Kanata. A few host in Bell's Corners.
Your personal experience and those SPs being willing to host in those hotels does not mean that all SPs will be willing to host in those hotels.
All SPs have different points at which they go from "I am good with this" to "Nope, not doing this."

If I were to have made a bid on something like this, then I probably would have had to charge a lot more because then I’m also factoring in covering the cost of a hotel room and potentially not picking up other clients in that area, so it’s the provider who is at a loss. It’s also the provider setting the donation amount to the charity of their choice… sooo when you factor all those things in. Are you even going to accept a bid that’s going to be much higher in price than an average booking or would you rather take that 30$ Uber?

You are not comfortable booking a hotel in the area - that's your perspective.
I am not comfortable traveling across the city/downtown for an appointment - that's MY perspective. It's more money (that $30 Uber is only one-way after all, so it comes to $60), more frustration with travelling, and more time out of my day. I also gave lots of lead-time for this, so there is plenty of time to book further clients for that day.
Not a single provider even messaged me; and quite frankly that's very disappointing. If a lady mentioned that she doesn't wish to host in that area, we might have been able to compromise on a location.
The point is moot. No bids were offered, so there is no donation to the charities from me, which is a main point of this venture. All three entities (providers, charities, and myself) are at a loss.
I would guess that the number of providers bidding was somewhat lower than the number of people posting fantasies. So it is also possible, particularly for those of us who posted later in the week, that the providers who might have been interested had already prepared enough bids to fill their holiday schedule.
