You can look at this two ways. Be angry about the off duty cop that ran the roadblock or be happy his colleagues didn't let him off the hook because he's a cop.

Lack of good judgement on the part of the police force.

If ANYONE who is required to drive s part of their job were to be arrested for impaired driving, they would be summarily FIRED! And if it was later determined to be a "wrongful dismissal", the driver could launch a lawsuit and let an independant civil court decide if it was indeed a wrongful termination.

In this situation, the police service themselves have set the example that drunk driving and almost running over police officers is forgivable, a not so serious "lack of judgement".

This must disgust good, law abiding cops.
