among other things. This appointment would be hilarious if it wasn’t so scary.
It is expected that a Biden will protect his son.
But he lied that he will never pardon.
So he has shown himself to be no different than Trump when it comes to using his position per his convenience, to help his cronies/family/loyalists.
I think Gavin Newsom is a closer likeness to Trudeau. Hunter is just a President's son.
You could make the same (and possibly more likely) argument that Don Junior will run for President.
It's obvious the foreign opportunities and dollars that he was bestowed would have not occurred if Hunter wasn't a President/Vice President's son.
If we project the hypothetical that Hunter was not a President's son, Hunter would likely have received punishment for something a lot earlier. Maybe something less serious. Perhaps his path in life would have looked differently for the better or for the worse.
Parties in the U.S. have regenerative properties. The question will the progressives in the Democratic party take another shot at the brass ring.

Now that the dust has settled, we can see Joe Biden's Presidency was a rare confluence of events. We had an aging but relatively likeable moderate running in an odd crisis where campaigning and public appearances were minimized.
Biden's agenda in office was dictated by the progressive left. If we think he was calling the shots in 2021, we certainly don't think he has been calling the shots now or even last year. So basically the people behind the scenes wrapped Biden's moderate political persona around a progressive agenda.
In the past when I have said this, the progs here have a fit proclaiming the Biden Democrats are the real moderates and Trump is the hard right extremist. If the November election taught us anything, it's that the two parties are in a state of flux. Biden or Harris were not JFK. Trump is not Ronald Reagan.
